ok, so I was doing some cleaning around the house, and saw my wii just sitting there rotting away slowly. I realized it's not because the games were bad or anything that I don't play the wii anymore. I think the reason I quit playing was the controller...don't get me wrong I think it was "innovative" for the first few months of wii sports. I think gamers these days are more drawn into laziness/timekilling (mmorpg, madden, halo, anything that involves sitting down relaxing/talking to their friends online at the same time).
As one of these "gamers" I find that although at first I found the wii entertaining, I get lazy and rather than picking up the wiimote, I pick up the ps3 controller. I understand nintendo is trying to reach out to these gamers by making controllers like the wii classic controller pro. But then it gets flawed when you have to find your wiimote everytime to plug it in to use it.
Wouldn't it be nice if nintendo just made a stand alone wireless wii classic controller pro or something? Maybe give each player the choice to either use that or the wiimote for any game? There are a lot of games I'd love to play on the wii without having to use or associate the wiimote in anyway.
Like hey I want to play some classic retro games, let me grab my wii classic controller, oh wait I'm missing something, totally forgot about the wiimote.
Or Nintendo can always give the option of wireless or wired classic controller just like the gamecube controller slots....maybe USB Powered perhaps?
Anyways that's just a suggestion I'd give out to Nintendo if they ever asked me what would improve my gaming interest on the nintendo wii.
Let me know what you guys think of this "player's choice" thing for nintendo.
