Nono, it's been like this for a year or so. I've been putting up with it, but now it's really starting to annoy me. I started replaying Twilight Princess, but I quit again because of the noise.

I called Nintendo. The guy thinks my laser motor or something like that broke. Repairs would be more expensive than getting a replacement. I can get a new (?) Wii for €92. They will transfer my downloaded games, but I will lose some save files that can't be copied... Oh, I also get a new year of guarantee.
So what would you do?

While lack of ventilation is never good, mine has been stuffed into a closed shelf about the same size for the last year and a half, but with all the Wii games and old Gamecube games all stuffed on top of it and around it. I mean it's literally stuffed in there with no room around it in any direction.
The shelf does however have a large opening out the back, and I don't play the Wii that often. And it did freeze a couple times when I played Tiger Woods 10. If yours isn't blocked in all directions, and you have openings out the back, you're probably fine.
My PS3 is sitting in a pretty tight space on top of DVR cable box that puts off some pretty good heat...I havent had one single bit of problem with it since I got it in May.
Well, inless you include that system update that Sony released that caused a bunch of games to freeze up...which they fixed with another update about a week later.
