Default The Pokemon Journal

I don't know... bored at work... covering the front desk with access to a computer and had an idea.

Like how you have a journal in the new Pokemon games to keep track of what is going on, I will attempt to keep a journal of my daily playing.. as much as possible.. it won't be daily and it won't last long, but worth a shot.

With that said, I started my game yesterday and I picked a Piplup to the surprise of no one. I always go with the water-started and he is a penguin so it was a no-brainer.

I nicknamed him EJ after my own nickname, and we are off on our adventure. We do the usual pre-game crap which takes like 20 minutes or so according to the game clock.

I was lazy and my rival is named Gavin and he is an energetic little bugger.

Anyhow, thus far I haven't had time to get into the adventure but caught the first 3 Pokemon you see.

Shinx which I named Em after a girl I know who likes to bite people.
Starly which I named Soro because the description reminded me of something I won't repeat in good taste.
And Bidoof who I didn't nickname because I won't keep him in my party long.

Right now Piplup is a level 8, Shinx a level 5, Starly 4 and Bidoof at 3.

I think I might join in as well. I want to finish Suikoden Tierkreis before I hit up Platinum. So maybe I should start my own thread for this?

I only got to play a little at work, but leveled up most of my Pokemon
Piplup is now at 12
Starly at 10
Shinx at 9 and Bidoof at 7

I met Gavin again and beat his ass, he went off whining of course.
I had to search for 3 clowns to get the first part of my Poketch.
I met some random travellers, and of course won.

I HATE Abras... why do they even show up in the wild? They either teleport or... well teleport... right away.

If you really want an abra keep encountering them and immediately throw poke ball. They have a high capture rate with no damage. I think you will catch one eventually. They aren't hard to get.

Also you'll be keeping shinx and starly in your party probably. They are two of the better pokemans for most of the game.

Any more poke questions and I can let you know what is up. I'm the nerd who ev leveled his pokemans and all that stuff.

I love pokemans more than anything

It was a big day for us, a few members joined our team including a Zubat which I named Bruce for obvious reasons I hope, a Psyduck I named Field after one of my residents who always seems to be suffering from a migraines. Machop which I named after Acebot's roomie because he is short but packs a punch and an Abra which I was gonna name after TSM for giving me the tip, but the sukowodo or lichitung are too good to pass up, and read the description and only person who suffers from using their mind and need to sleep for 18 hrs was Teuthida.

We also won our first gym badge, the gym itself was pretty easy with only two challengers before Roark, but Roark kicked my ass... I should say his Cranindos did... the headbutt would destroy most of my time in one hit, it didn't help that his Geodude/Onix would use stealth rock which would cause damage whenever I switched in someone.

In the end, we won and now we can equip Rock Smash to use. Also had my first run in with Team Galatic and my first Team Battle.

Have the fashion case now.

Just FYI abra doesn't learn an attack until it evolves at level 16. Teleport go baby! But in all pokemon games pretty much he is the only psychic you can acquire for at least the first half of the game. Plus Alakazam is too cash not to have always. In the Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald series though you get Ralts and he is straight up money. Gardevoir is amazing.

I ended up using a Tm on my Abra so he could attack. This way he could be more usefull at the whole leveling up thing. Even though I have not beaten the game he is still my strongest pokemon,

I just beat the main story part of Diamond and am finishing up the side quests.

Then I'm going to farm berries to lower all of my ev's back down to train them up right.

Also going for a 40 length chain to build up a 1/205 chance of getting a shiny mareep.

It will happen.

One day.

Pokejournal Apr. 10th 2009.

Dear Pokejournal,

Today I almost caught a shiny Pikachu after 60 hours of trying. But I accidentally killed it! ;_; Well...another 60 hours to go, I guess.

I took the bus to go buy some Chaos trading cards and there was this cute girl sitting next to me. I asked if she wanted to trade some Mons but she didn't know what I was talking about and said I smelled weird. Gurls are dumb lol.

Well I just found out that EJ is actually a female... so that makes things a bit akward... yeah I wasn't really paying attention to their gender symbols until Vamp asked me on AIM.

But I guess I can whore her out to mate for me so I have Pokemon to trade.

Also, I signed up for the Wi-Fi club and think went to the new mini-game area in Plan... I could be wrong... it was weird.

4511 6657 2179

If anyone wants to add me.
I'm in the bug forest, and since you have Cheryl with you to heal after every battle just going to use it to grind a bit. Got my Prinplup up to level 20. Staravia up to 17 and I think Luxio as well.

The rest are at 16, and somehow still feel that they are underpowered.
My team as it stands now
Prinplup (EJ)
Staravia (Soro)
Luxio (Em)
Kadabra, who yeah evolved and now knows confusion. (Dan)
Budew (Toebbe)
Machop (Smith)

Also, if anyone has a female of the water or fire starter from Diamond/Pearl/Platinum, I would greatly appreciate it if you could breed me one. In return, I can breed you a starter from Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald.

Also, if you are lucky enough to have a female johto starter...I will make your wildest dreams come true.

Damn...you nerds are making me want to play pokemon again.

Maybe i'll pick up this platinum doodad.

On second thought: is this a remake or an entirely new game? Is it worth it to buy this if I already have Pearl?

Remake. It is to Pearl and Diamond as Yellow as to red and blue, crystal to gold/silver, emerald to sapphire/ruby.

Probably not worth picking up unless you really feel like starting over but don't want to delete your pearl game, or you just really want some of the new pokemon available in it (like the legendary birds from Red/Blue).

I will probably get it, but I'm a pokemon dork. :\

Maybe I'll just play ruby or something and trade over some mons to my Pearl game.
