On second thought: is this a remake or an entirely new game? Is it worth it to buy this if I already have Pearl?

Remake. It is to Pearl and Diamond as Yellow as to red and blue, crystal to gold/silver, emerald to sapphire/ruby.

Probably not worth picking up unless you really feel like starting over but don't want to delete your pearl game, or you just really want some of the new pokemon available in it (like the legendary birds from Red/Blue).

I will probably get it, but I'm a pokemon dork. :\
