I have come to a time in my life now where I find myself interpreting the question 'What Do You Want For Christmas' in an entirely different light.
Does it necessecerely mean 'what do you want me to buy you' or 'what toys do you want' as I percieved it as a child. Or the way I percieve it now. I am inclined to answer whith comments such as 'To have a happy time with my family and friends' as it is pretty much the only time of year now that my entire family gets together.
I suppose thats what I have now come to ask for from christmas rather than standing to gain material posessions. If I want something I buy it, it's a simple concept.
I would be inclined to ask people to buy me practical things that I actually need. My parents are divorced so I get extra presents, lol. I could ask them to put their money together and purchase me a washing machine. Boring I know but infinately useful.
I would say look around your house, what do you 'actually' need. You mentioned mabey something for the kitchen. If so what. Plates, cups saucepans a microwave? Mabey there are things you never considered before like for example a blender, deep fat fryer or bread bin. Not exciting I know but all serve a useful purpose in some way or another.
I need some socks
Hope I have helped in some way
