did you know in boot camp they can no longer swear at the recruits? the US army is turning into a pampered POS, and relying wayy to much on technology, and not enough on well trained troops. if the troops were trained, we wouldn't have people jumping in front of live grenades, driving tanks off bridges and not knowing how to read a damn map...embarrassment when we kill more of our people than the enemy does.
apparantly thats not so in canada

they swear at recruits as much as they want. I know because i'm signing up next summer

Oh-my-f*cking-God! You're signing up for the CANADIAN military?! CANADIAN?!?!?!

Holy sh*t, are you f*cking retarded or something? Who in their right-f*cking-mind signs up for the Canadian military? The American military... Okay. But never, EVER the Canadian military.

That's f*cking horrible.

You're a foolish, foolish boy.

Canada hasn't been through the historical events that our military did. The Canadian army has never faced extinction and had to accept some bogus regulations written by politicians (ie. USMC). They also never struggled through the hard times of the 70s, after Vietnam (ie. the entire military). And they never were forced to undergo drastic changes after the end of the Cold War (ie. Army). They also don't have to fill nearly as many ranks, with only 40,000 in the Canadian Army including reserves.

Swearing doesn't make better soldiers. My problem is that instead of changing ****ing to friggin, they make everything easier and less stressful. I don't get it.

hmm.... as much as you may think that Canada has a weak army, although we have small numbers, their trained VERY well. I'm not saying that american troops aren't, i'm simply saying that because there are fewer canadian troops, it makes them easier to train better. During WWII for example, Canadian troops were the shock troops of the war in many cases. And the special forces are trained in all terrains imaginable, from sweating heat, to the freezing Canadian North. This is all from research from school, granted taht it may be biased because i go to school in Canada but it still shows that even though we may not have been through everything the american army has, we still have a formidable army.

Canada may have a, "nicely trained army," but at this point in time America has the most powerful and most well trained military in histoy. And that is a fact. It's no disrepect to Canada, but it's pretty cut and dry.

What I said had nothing to do with the training of Canadian troops. The US military has gotten softer because of the events they went through, which Canada never has, and with only 40,000 troops, you don't need to work nearly as hard to fill the ranks, so you take the guys who want to be there.

The Canadian army is very active in peacekeeping missions, but it's been many years since Canada has had to fight their own war, or do a majority of the fighting. Canada has the luxury of having the protection of the most powerful nation in the world. Canada can keep a very small army, but the US is forced to keep a large one, and to do that, the Army is trying to sell you on 101 ways to be a soldier without being in infantry, the Navy will let you travel the world and accelerate your life, and the Air Force will provide you with great training with technology when you cross into the blue screen of death The US has to fill its ranks, and to do that, you have to appeal to more people. That's the way things work.

You forgot to mention Canadian snipers, which are very good. No Marine Corps snipers mind you, but they definetly some of the best.

LOL, good one.

Straight up, Canada's military sucks.

I hear they're well trained, but with next to no budget and such small numbers, they suck. Signing up for the Canadian military is retarded. Simple as that.
