What?
Anyways, I suppose i can see why they wouldnt want their idea stolen. I mean, look at Zelda, they introduce cel shading into the gaming world, and suddenly all the new games are cell shaded...interesting...

Re: Official Mario 128 Discussion
Umm... Cel-shaidng was introduced long before Wind Waker and a lot of the cel-shaded games coming out were announced around the same time as Wind Waker, too soon for it to have been taken form WW.
Also, considering the bad reaction to Wind Waker's cel-shading, I seriously doubt that other companies would decide to make their games cel-shaded games because of it.

I think not announcing something because you're afraid of having your idea stolen is stupid... If it's a good idea, it will probably be copied in one way or another eventually, and you'll probably still get your game out first... And even if you didn't, in Nintendo's case the other game would probably be on another system, so how would it effect sales in any way? Plus there are ways to show stuff from the game without revealing too much...

Re: Official Mario 128 Discussion
Depends what it is, and when they expect to have this game finished.
I mean, look at Blinx. It's only claim to fame was the ability to control time. If a couple months before its release, Nintendo or Sony were able to produce an adventure game allowing the same thing, Blinx wouldn't have held the hype until its release.

Ideas are taken all the time. I guess Nintendo wanted to make sure they were the first to release their idea, cause some company could make a quick copy and beat them to it. By releasing as little info as they can before the release, they can secure their idea as theirs.

Re: Official Mario 128 Discussion
The game must be in it's really early stage. Otherwise a company wouldn't be able to produce a half decent game before mario is released.
Well, as long as it's better than sunshine, i'm happy.

good point, even though it's technically impossible.
but if the idea is so huge that will take a good development cycle, I doubt anybody will be able to pick it off that fast... at least not in a quality title anyway.

depends on what you mean by "succeed"... does that mean it was the only good one? If so you are wrong again, like always.
Just kidding... I'm guessing you mean in sales.
