That's how a lot of them ae trained. I can see why though, if the fight isn't over, they're more likely to keep going and someone will get hurt.
At my school, the biggest guy there was put in a neck brace after breaking up a fight. And one of the female teachers had gotten elbowed in the chest, and got a broken rip which went back and punctured her lung.
