I still haven't played the second one because I don't think it can live up to the first, and here they are already announcing a third.

The second is not a true sequel. It was made by another developer, not unlike some of the more lackluster Call of Duty efforts. B2 was not bad, but it simply was more of the same with a few kinks added here and there, and multiplayer. Actually, I thought there was a lot of potential inchanging the antagonist from a Objectivist (Ryan) to a Communist (Lamb), but the theme was not fully explored.
