The one thing I can't understand abot the Patritos and its fans are that they can't seem to take the bad with the good...

...which is pathetic considering how far the good has outweighed the bad in the past 6 years. Even moreso when you consider how the Red Sox have done.

I think they have gotten a big head with the success of the Red Sox and the Patroits. It's like the greatest city in the world because their teams are dominating. And it's kind of hard for them, it is a new feeling I would imagine to be the top of the heap. And I'm sure they all tasted victory. They all wanted it and it was snatched away from them.

And i've got to say knowing this city to city business, it feels good.

Easy to understand. The fans have gotten spoiled, and along the way they have picked up tons of bandwagon fans who are only there for the fair days anyway.

There are plenty of true fans that although the huge upset I'm sure is hard to come down from, they will in the end take it in stride. I know a few personally.

And I think it goes both ways. "Belichick is pure dirt, a huge loser" sounds like Jason1 not being able to take the good with the bad, or the bad with the good. We get it, your team lost to the Patriots, it's ok.

Not everyone who dislikes Bill Belichick cheers for a team that has lost to the modern day Pats in a big game, believe it or not...so I would give up that whole 'you must be jealous' stance you've seem to taken with the New England Patriots. I don't know if you're just playing devil's advocate, if you're just a jerk, or if you're secretly a Patriots fan. I'm not sure...has to be one of the 3 though, and that's OK.

And secretly a Patriots fan? Haven't I already said I am? I don't know, maybe I haven't. But at the same time I wanted the Giants to win. I'm also a devil's advocate sometimes and a jerk oftentimes.

I definitely can't fell an ounce sorry for Boston fans being a follower of all 4 major Philadelphia sports teams. We are on the verge of celebrating 100 seasons without a championship for all those teams combined.

The way the Flyers are looking, maybe we have a chance...Though if we run into the Devils or the Red Wings I can almost guarantee a loss.

Do you mean 25 seasons for each of the four teams without a championship? Or do you mean 100 seasons for each team for a cumulative of 400 seasons? If the latter, then wow. I will have to root for Philadelphia from now on.

I mean 25 seasons for each of the teams...The last championship was the 1983 76ers...

Though all in all, the Philadelphia Phillies have won one World Series in 120 some years of existence. The Eagles have never won a Super Bowl and just three NFL championships for being in existence in the mid-30's. (last one in 1960). The Sixers in all of their forms have won 3 championships being the oldest franchise in the NBA (1939 or so?) and the Flyers won twice in the mid-70's as an expansion team....So yeah, Just 10 championships in the hundred some years most of these teams have been around and none since I've been alive and 2 years before that.

I gotta say it's fun though. It makes Sports talk radio around here fun because everyone is kind of sad and pathetic about losing so much.

EDIT: So Philadelphia is 10/306 in terms of years their teams have been around. By comparison just the Boston Celtics have won 16 championships in 60 years of existence and the Yankees have 26 titles in about 100 years...Yeesh

Jason is usually more outspoken. I think virtually everyone can agree that BB is a douchebag, just some people won't come out and project it.

I started liking the Patriots when I started college back in 2002 when the Texans first came online. I didn't have any real loyalty to the Texans, and my college buddies were all die-hard Patriots fans from the Boston area who couldn't keep their mouths shut about them. So I gained some interest.

Since parting ways with those guys, I still keep a small interest in the Pats. This season I liked watching them because it was amazing to watch a team that good, a team which seemed destined to win every game by some magic play (or call). That ended abruptly.

But I don't have any big vested interest in them. I'd rather revel in the misery of all of the Pats fans I know than let them have something to forever point to and tout.
