Mine is very similar...
I woke up around 1, walked downstairs and my dad was in front of the TV...
They were replaying some footage of when the towers were still standing, and I was rather curious... "What's all this about?"
"Terrorist attack... This is footage from earlier, those buildings aren't standing anymore... They hit the pentagon, too.", says dad... (The Pentagon being here in Arlington, for anyone who doesn't know)...
"Crazy... *walks into kitchen to get food*"
True story...

Re: 9/11
I believe I was sleeping, my mom came and kicked me to wake me up. Told me to put it on CNN. I call my dad. That's all I remember.

Re: 9/11
I remember that my alarm woke me up, so I hit snooze like usual and turned on the radio and heard what happened.

9/11 will eventually become another date that is remembered in our history, like D-Day, Pearl Harbor, etc. Right now its still very fresh in many people's minds, so I have no problem with our government and it's citizens putting it in the forefront. Afterall, we overthrew two nations and are still fighting because of it. It should be heavily recognized right now.

Re: 9/11
I was in 8th grade. I remember in my first hour class I was supposed to be looking up stuff on some classical musician or something, but instead found out I share the same birthday with Mark Twain.
Then I went to second hour Earth Science and heard of few whispers of something about a plane and the WTC, but not enough to know what was happening.
Then I went to 3rd hour US History. My teacher told us, "I know we were supposed to have a test today, but this is a US History class and history being written right now." (or something like that). He then took us to the media center where several teachers had been taking their classes to watch the news footage (MSNBC) on the TV in there...
So I watched it...
And then I went to 4th hour where I was an office aide in the attendance office. I spent the whole hour running around the school getting kids out of class so they could be checked out because of the attacks...
And then it was hardly mentioned in my 5th (Algebra) or 6th (English) classes. Then I went home and tried to watch my normal after-school shows, but Cartoon Network had taken Gundam off the air (too war-ish), so I switched to the news again...
Yep...
/me shrugs and walks away

Speaking of which...how did Bush manage to convince everyone that going into Iraq was a good idea on the grounds of 9/11? I find this especially perplexing considering that almost all of the terrorists were Saudi Arabian.

I'm not quite sure why you seem to be confused, as we have discussed this topic... TO DEATH... already. I'm not going to repeat myself for the 80th time, especially not in a 9/11 memorial thread.

Re: 9/11
Either past explanations made little sense or I forgot what they were. It's been a while.
