Re: Oh no! London attacked :(
Muslim fundamentalism (terrorism) breeds from oppressive, theocratic, totalitarian governments. Many of these countries that practice this form of government live in poverty and the majority of the people are oppressed. The oppression of these people gives rise to terrorists who wish to take advantage of these oppressed people. A comparison could be used with Nazi Germany. The Nazis took advantage of an impoverished German working class and used the hard working Jewish people as a scapegoat for their agony, much in the way civilized Western countries are used as a scapegoat by Muslim fundamentalists. In any case, terrorists thrive on oppressive regimes. The introduction of democracy to the Middle East is a direct threat to the terrorist's power. Do you see anyone from democratic countries going half way around the world to blow themselves up? Why no, you don't. Democracies may breed domestic terrorism, but they most certainly do not breed international terrorism. While the terrorists may not hate freedom, they hate our democratic ideals that threaten their power base. It's somewhat hard to explain, but I hope that helped.
