It's A Bird, It's a Plane, It's the New Superman
Well, it's official, we have a new Superman for the 21st Century. Ok another Superman for the 21st Centruy, but whatever.
A relative unknown, Brandon Routh has been cast as the part of the Man of Steel, in Bryan Singer's Superman. The movie will pick up after the second Superman movie, discounting the last two movies.

How does Bryan Singer get to direct both both Marvel AND D.C. superhero movies?

Does the new director not agree with the direction that the 3rd and 4th movie went?

Re: It's A Bird, It's a Plane, It's the New Superman
Im hoping this will be a good movie. Considering you know....its Superman...and how long has it been since theer was a Superman movie?
(Also, is it just me that thinks that "The Adventures of Jerry Seinfeld and Superman" would make a hilarious movie/and or TV show?)

They did kind of...you know...suck.
Although I don't think he should just throw the last two movies away, either. If he's going to follow the continuity of past Superman movies, he needs to count all of them.
Although I would rather have the new movie part a whole new continuity. If they can do it with a fraanchise less than 10 years old, they do it for one over 20.

Yeah that's the one thing I don't get, but I'm sure it's directors choice.
But by the time Batman Begins comes out, there will have been 8 years between Batman and Robin in this movie, and yet they are restarting the franchise.
Between Superman IV and this one, is closer to 20 years (don't know exact number), and it's even more between Superman II and this one, but it's continuing.

Well, there is nothing wrong with directing for both companies.
What I was getting at is, he no longer works with Marvel, atleast not on the X-Men franchise.

Ah. I just think it's impressive that he was able to do movies for both.
