Default Video Game Music Remixes

Anybody do them? I haven't really seen any posts about them in here. I'm pretty new to the programs, but I did one today with FruityLoops. I'm planning on submitting it to OCReMix if I get around to it - so that's why the tags are as they are.

It's a slow remix of the Super Mario 2 Ending music.

Well, I felt bad since no one else responded, and I thought you did a good job with the song.

Any others would be appreciated, big collector of different Mario songs... haha

Haha. I know it's not the best as I just got into doing remixes. I really didn't expect very many responses, but one?

+rep for the thought.

I love it! I would've responded sooner but the internet has been down for the past couple days, and when it comes back on, it's only for a little bit. Could you explain to me the whole process you went through to make it becuase I'd like to become your apprentice and make remixes too. Did you make the initial music with a MIDI keyboard?

Actually, it's so great because so many of the pieces are already in midi form (usually converted from the SNES, NES, etc.'s sound format to standard midi). So what you have to do is decide what program you want to use - what instrument packs sound good with the song, and then start adding unique bits in there. This one lacks a bit of originality, but I did slow the tempo and do some fades. But for the most part it was just assigning new midi instruments from a professional package and having the program (Fruity Loops Studio 4) process it into an MP3 since standard midi programs wouldn't be able to process the alternate instruments. From there I do a little bit of MP3 editing and I'm done.

If you're wanting to get started though, it can be a bit daunting at first. I'd be happy to help you through it on MSN or AIM sometime. Just PM me.
