October 07, 2004 - Namco is producing a Nintendo DS version of Ridge Racer to take advantage of the special features that the unique system offers to gamers and developers.
Scheduled as a launch title for the system in the US, Ridge Racer DS, in development at Nintendo's NST studio, features a total of 20 racetracks in three different locations, including the familiar Ridge Racer cityscape, the Northwest course from Riger Racer Revolution, and a sunny desert in the Southwest.

The game will utilize the lower screen for direct analog steering of the vehicles via the touch sensitive panel. The game will also feature wireless connectivity for as many as six player competitions.
