I rented this game this weekend and it is amazing. I love this game.

For those of you who don't know what it is, it's a Star wars form of Battlefield.
It can be played in either third or first person. There are four different teams you can be. The droids, clones, Empire, and Rebels. For each team, there are different classes. You have your basic trooper guy, with traditional blaster rifle, then there are snpiers, rocket launchers, and then there are the special classes. For the droids there is is the radiation launchers, Super droids with wrist lasers and wrist rockets, Droideckas, they are the little annoying guys with shields and rolling aroundness. For clones they have the jet pack people, with emp launchers,then there are the guys with electric ray guns that shoot electric shocks. The empire has shot gunners with jet packs, mortar launcher people. The rebels have Wookies.Yes, you heard me right, Wookies.
There are also alot of vehicles such as Tie fighters, Tie bombers, X-Wings, Y-Wings, Speederbikes, AT-STs,AT-ATs, Snowspeeders and a bunch of other ones.
There is two different time periods as well. One is the clone era which has the Droid army and the Clone army. Then there is the other era(Can't remember the name) with the Empire and the Rebels. For each era you get about 3-5 battles with each army in chrnological order. For the Clone era there are places such as Naboo, where you can shoot Gungans, Kashyyyx, where the Wookies live, and a bunch of others. For the other era there are place like Tatooine, with the creepy sand pit, Hoth, with the classic battle from The Empire Strikes Back, and of course Endor, with Ewoks. I love Ewoks.
Then there is the Galactic Conquest amd Instant Action. Galactic Conquest you get to pick an army and try to take over the galaxy, hence the name. For every planet you control you can choose a certain bonus for battle, for example, if you control Tatooine, you can have a Jedi hero assist you on the battle field. Instant action is exactly what it sounds like. Instant action.
Battle is pretty simple no matter where you are. You basically just run around shooting people and trying to take the other army's command posts. When they are red, they are the enemies, when they are white, they are neutral, yellow is for npc armies, such as the Ewoks, and green means it's yours. You win the battle when you have either killed all of the other teams players or taken all of their command stations.
I haven't done the online play yet, so anyone who has, feel free to share. My wrists hurt. Too much typing.

I have the PC version. Its pretty good. It's just really buggy so far for me. I've yet to finish the Hoth level. First time completely locked up my computer, second time it just quits the game out with no explanation, no errors. Just closes out.

So hopefully a patch fixes this issues.

Im planning on getting eitehr one by Christmas (About when patches come out, or should be) but preferrably for PC, because then you can have more people online. Plus that way i can play online.

But the game sounds awesome, it combines 2 of my favourite thins, BF 1942, and SW games.

I was really looking forward to this until I read the reviews for it.

Sounds like a mediocre PC game. ie. a great console game.

I"ll stick to battlefield... I'm not that big of a starwars fan anyway.

It looks good but I dunno, as Seth said, I'll stick to battlefield......... Which I actually don't have, but I hear it's better and have been wanting to pick it up anyways... Plus it's cheaper...

Have it, and its a fun game.

its not the greatest game, nor does it need to be imo, its just something slightly different to play then battlefield but fun. Patches will come and fix many issues for the pc users, console users are stuck with thoes problems really.

and if you get it, you better be planning on multi player because thats the only way you get enjoyment out of it. games like this arent meant to be single player. so single player rather sucks.

But muli player as i said is quite fun, its not a game thats going to tear me away from the great multi player games. its just a fun alternative to play when i want to do something different.

Like I said...I think...im getting ti definately by Christmas. I love Star Wars games, (Not too crazy about the movies, but i like em) The games are just awesome, they always have been. But i like BF, and I like SW. So i figure, why not. Ive always wanted a game where i can ride a speeder, and those big 4 legged things, and the 2 legged walkers.

Can you fly the planes in it? Like, the Starfighter, X-Wing,..the...uh...Galactic Empire one...and others? Or is it just land "vehicles"?


But i need no convincing, I was sold on this when i saw it months ago.

There are flying vehicles, but that doesn't mean space battles.

There are X-wings, Y-wings, Tie fighters, Tie bombers, snow speeders and some other ones. It feels like I'm repeating myself here. Oh wait I am.

The controls aren't the best for flying but once you get used to them it's okay. One thing that angered me was that it is so hard to take down the AT-ATs with the Snowspeeder's cable thing. It's almost impossible. Has anbody gotten it to work.

only buy the great ones, then you miss out on the good fun ones. Battlefront has potention to be great, if they do the patching work correctly and get a lot of issues resolved.

games are cheap, i buy games based on how bored i am, if a game that is good or better, comes out and im bored at the time, i'll get it to relieve some bored.

I want this game more and more, now that I think about it. But i need to get SA before anything else, thats my number 1 priority. Number 2 shall be SW:BF.
