Default Booth Tour Impressions: Sony, EA

I recently watched streaming video of guided tours throughout Sony's booth, as well as EA's...and I am extremely impressed.

I had a glimpse of PSP prototypes...boxarts, connectivity, UMB designs, etc. Looked great.

The guy then showed off PS2 games. Here are some serious titles to look out for...the ones that REALLY blew me away from what I saw/heard are in bold:

-Killzone - honestly looked amazing

-The Getaway: Black Monday (graphics looked fantastic...didnt talk about it much)

-Gran Turismo 4 - lucky bastards playing it got the whole treatment...racing seat, force feedback wheel, pedals

-God of War - look out for this one...I didnt put it in bolds becaues I haven't seen enough of it...but this looks like Castlevania (ancient mythology style) in full 3D with some REALLY kickass action gameplay

-Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal - full single player mode (one of the best 3D platform franchises), but what really struck me was the online battle mode. 4 vs 4 platform character battles (capture the base, for example) with anti-gravity boots, turret guns, platforming, and all of the insane weapons and gadgets from the R&C universe

-Jak 3 - all I got to see was a guy driving a dune buggy around this huge desolate wasteland...but he was trying to take out some huge monster, and it looked pretty damn cool. I know this will be a visual spectacle, and a quality action platformer.

-Hot Shots Golf Fore! - this game is mine...addictive, quality HSG gameplay with a ton of courses, characters, etc., with a huge new minigolf mode and online tournaments

-Rise of Kasai - watch out for this one. Sequel to 'the Mark of Kri', this could be a big-time swordplay action game

-EYEToy: AntiGrav - supposedly this is the first 3D character-based physical/interactive gameplay...using color recognition and body movement. Hoverboard racing...apparently the 'next step in EyeToy evolution'

Electronic Arts booth

I saw Madden NFL 2005, Burnout 3, and the Urbz: Sims in the City

Honestly, I was extremely impressed with all 3. Burnout 3 is going to be INSANE...online on PS2 and XBox...I'm expecting BIG things from this game. Madden is Madden...I'll be addicted for months. Urbz: Sims in the City actually looked very cool, and I'm not a big fan of the Sims franchise. It has EyeToy functionality that'll allow you to put your big ugly mug on city billboards, for example. Your sims get jobs, learn new social behavior...looks like there's a lot of minigames in there too. I was surprised...in a good way.

I think both Killzone and Ratchet and Clank: UPY are both slated for November. Jak3 should be October...GT4 should be November or December

Hmmm, November wouldn't be a great month for Killzone release.

Yeah, you know what I'm saying, stiff competition.
