My upgraded pc
Athlon AMD XP 3000+, 512 DDR Ram, Mobo of some sort that's good, and Radeon 9600TX with 256MB DDR Ram.
UT/CS and WC:TFT run so damn well now.

Re: My upgraded pc

And looks good. Maybe you should edit it and make it say 9600XT

Re: My upgraded pc
That's a very nice, very competant system. I actually upgraded about a month ago. I got a little better stuff that you though, lol. My core components are now an AMD 64 3000+, 1gb DDR 3200, and a 9800 Pro 128mb.
That's upgraded from a AMD Athlon 2500+ "Barton", 768mb DDR 2700, and a GeForce Ti4200 128mb. I guess the only thing that I really needed to upgrade was my video card, but then I figured I'd go all out.

Re: My upgraded pc
I want more RAM. Does anyone know any places that sell the DDR 3200 RAM for cheap?

Re: My upgraded pc
I'd go a gig but the ram I have (512mb) cost me a pretty penny (I think $120) and its fast enough until I can find ram that have nearly the same timings.

Re: My upgraded pc
I got my RAM at Newegg for I think $83 a stick. That's 512mb DDR 3200. I don't keep up much with RAM prices, but I think that's fairly good.

Re: My upgraded pc
I too got mine from newegg but the timings on it are 2-2-2-6 so its some of the fastest pc-3200 ram from Kingston (HyperX Series). If I can find some 2x512 sticks that are like 2-3-2-6 ill live with it

Lol, I used to have the GeForce 2 GTS-V before my Ti4200. The GTS-V was like a watered down GTS, wow, I think I bought that for like $40 back in like 2000.

Re: My upgraded pc
Do you guys actually need the upgrades or are you just upgrading to keep up with technology and the new stuff? Just wondering. I would like to upgrade as well, but I've got no money to do that right now and I don't think I really need an upgrade, my AMD 1.4ghz is still holding up fine. Although it doesn't hurt to have the best, I'm not a big PC gamer and I don't think I need a faster machine yet.
Wish I could upgrade as freely as some of you are.
How big are the differences when you upgrade from 1.4ghz to like a 2+ghz? I know going from 300mhz to 1.4ghz was big. It was a drastic improvement.
Next planned upgrade, is to get a DVD burner. What's yours?

Re: My upgraded pc
Since I game quite a bit I like to upgrade when I can. My current computer took me a few months to complete because all I did was buy the core componenets at first, then each check buy a few more things to it. And I started in November and I believe finished up "unofficially" sometime in January.
