Default iPod Question...

Does having the hold switch on use any power? Because I think the iPod sometimes turns on by itself if you don't have the hold switch down. Just for little checks or time checks or something? I guess I'm really addressing this question to gekko and Null since I don't have knowledge of anyone else here owning an iPod.

no it dont use extra power. it just disables buttons.

i believe what the hold switch is doing is just cutting the circuit to the buttons so they send now power to anything else. its like you have 2 wires. and holds them together power runs thro. pull them apart nothing.

however the ipod uses power when its off anyway. i mean if you were to let it sit by itself for a month or something you'd notice it having less power.

Lets put it this way.... if you DONT have hold on and you accidently press a button and it turns on... your using more power then, than if the hold was on. :P

No, but you need firewire (old version) or USB 2.0 newer version.

Ipod, cause you won't buy our other crap.

Yes, I do really, really want one.

A month? Mine can die in a couple days. It used to be worse, before the iPod 1.2 software, it could die on me in a day.

And my $499 iPod ownz. Problem is it's the first generation 10GB Spinning scrollwheel, still pretty fat, and weighs a lot more than 2 CDs. Oh well, I'll get a new one when I get a G5.
