Default Do you know what's in your water?

Southwest Michigan - A husband and wife purchase a farm in the 1940's and raise their family. In the late 1970's, the husband passes away with the wife also passing a couple years later. The farm stayed in the family (both close and distant family) for years. Finally, the farm was sold in a cash deal sometime in the late 80's. When these owners passed, their daughter decided to purchase the farm, after it sat vacant for a couple years. This transaction required financing.

As required, the finance company requested a water test. The sample was secured and submitted. Within a few days, a technician from the state notified the purchaser that another sample was necessary, but he would collect it himself. When he appeared at the farm, two other men were with him. He went to the well, secured his own sample and advised the woman not to use the water under any circumstances.

Three days later, the Sheriff, State Police and Technician all return to the farm. They inform the woman that the water tests indicate a human body in the well. As close as they could tell by the tests, it had been in the well for at least 25 years.

This well has always been a closed well, not open. Nothing suspicious ever noted on the property and all family and friends accounted for. Each family used this same well for regular farm water, laundry, bathing, watering, and yes, drinking.

The State Police are scheduled to drain the well in the near future and hope to find identifying evidence. So far as anyone is saying, the victim is male.
