Default Get your 'Cube fix at a Hotel near you!

As reported on Cube-Europe Nintendo is gonna provide LodgeNet with a service similar to the SNES games you can currently play at select hotels. LodgeNet has 5,000 hotels with 875,000 rooms "hooked up" with old Nintendo games. Mainly SNES and some '64. But a new deal is going to allow you to play 'Cube games in your room. No details have been given yet on how the setup will work. Will the rooms with the service have a physical 'Cube in the room with 4 controllers? Will it be run the same way the current system is, where you pay a small fee and you can play a game of your choice for a certain amount of time, and the controller is "attached" to the TV.
*Edit* This applies to North American hotels. UK hotels are less "giving"

Ive stayed in a hotel a long time ago that had a SNES in it...and not too long ago one with a N64...cant remember where either of them were. But who would pay money for that? Besides, they charged some rediculous about for a short play time, If I remember correctly.

When I went to minnesota, my dad was checking through hotels to stay at.

One bosted "Nintendo Playstation"

Personally, you can keep the video games and give me skinamax.

I've seen Playstation and N64.

The first N64 lodgenet was in Seattle, it was standard controller. Second was a few months ago at a resort.. and my, the third one in oregon a few weeks ago had the fixed analog stick. With an outie instead of an innie. I thought that was neat. But it's two expensive for me. So I've never tried it.

Damn straight. Make sure its an RFU adapter. Not many hotels have TV's with built-in video inputs, but then again, Maybe its just the ones I've been to.

Sometimes in hotel they'll screw in a board to the back of the TV so that no one can get access to the video input. But I always bring my trusty wrench and screwdriver...

I've seen these things, sadly every hotel I stay in, including the SUITES don't seem to have them (Shakes fist at Disney hotels )

Basically the current ones have you "rent" a contyroller, choose a game, and play, my Dad has somehow been able tod o this, no system to connect too, more like plug in the control and tap a gaming database.

The reasonf or this was actually concern for theft of game consoles I belive as well as Cartidges, now if a similar system is being done with the 'Cube, then I'd guess, but I wouldn't bet the farm on it, that the new system will operate the same way.

Oh and just FYI, those controlers are slighty differnt than your average Nintendo Controller, they're deisgned to work with hotel security which is why they'd be harder to steal than you average 'Cube, which presumably would be harder to store and easier for a bad fan to take home with them-- aka a theif.

So to rview, my guess is the "Server" that runs the SNES games will also run the"Cube games, and it's not just SNES my parents were at a place that had NES games as well, let me tell ya, if we had this at Disney when I was sick, I'd have called Room service and use it, sadly enough I was sick witha fever adna sinus infection the last twod ays of my vacation their last year and managed to miss halfof what IU wanted to do, not to mention the TV line-up sucked except for ABC Family adn the Japanese channel, even if it dind't show anything I wanted to see at the time, nor do I understand very much Japanese, I think Crash understand more than I do, but if they put GCN's into hotel rooms, heres a thought:

Build them into the wall of the room and allow rental fo a "Speical" version of the "Wavebird", that could be interesting, eh?
