I think they're awesome-jawesome... I have all 4 of their CDs (I don't buy singles or anything because I'm too cheap) and I have the videos for Hotel Yorba, Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground, Fell in Love with a Girl, and Seven Nation Army on my computer... Along with live performances (videos) of Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground, Fell in love with a girl, and Seven Nation Army and Jolene from Conan... Along with the skit they did on Conan...
Fun times.... fun times...
I wish they'd play a show around here

Too many songs on that list from their third album for me... I think it's the worst of the 4 (although still good... I like Offend in Every Way, I can't wait, and a few others)...
And I think, compared to some of their other punky/loudy/more swingin-in songs, Fell in Love with a Girl blows...
I think their first album is one of their best (maybe 1st or second best... Maybe tied with 'Elephant')...
Jimmy the Exploder
Stop Breaking Down
The Big Three Killed my Baby
Broken Bricks
Screwdriver...
And you didn't mention I'm Bound to Pack it up! That's like one of my favorite De Stijl songs... along with Little Bird... And Truth Doesn't Make a Noise... (^____^
I like them too much, picking just a few songs to mention is too hard

White Stripes are mind blowingly amazing.
Definately one of the best things in music since Hendrix.

I don't think I've heard enough White Stripes to make a judgment on them, but they are obviously much better than a lot of stuff that is semi-mainstream. I hope that more good music can become popular also, but for some reason I doubt it.

I'm a fan of this band. I'd just really like to know what the deal with Jack and Meg is. First it's said that they're twin siblings and then it's said that they were a married couple.
One of their latest songs I like is "Black Math". Gotta dig those guitar riffs in the middle of the song. I heard them and I said to myself, "I have GOT to learn how to do that".
By the way, their most recent song, I'm not sure of the title, but it goes "I just don't know what to do with myself...". Is it a cover song? I'm asking because I think I might have heard it from some other band.

They said they were brother and sister until people found their marriage license and divorce papers... Then they stopped saying they're brother and sister (apparently)... although they never actually said they were married... Recently they've said they are cousins (apparently)
I love Black Math... And the song you're thinking of is called "I just don't know what to do with myself" And I heard it's a cover of a song, so I guess that'd be a yes...
Oh and jeepnut, last time the white stripes were brought up I thought you said you hadn't really heard much of their stuff, but you heard Jack say he likes to play with his guitar out of tune and you didn't like that... or something Their third album is what put them in the spotlight, but really it's a bit different from their other albums... less bluesy and stuff... In an interview, Jack White listed a few things that weren't 'White Blood Cells' that were in the other albums (and were brought back for Elephant)...

It's the pure rawness in their music that makes them so unique, and a joy to listen to.

I did say that. I don't know. I'm getting into metal and a lot of real technical stuff. Fast guitar solos played extremely well, that type of thing. I heard that Jack has kind of a sloppier style to his playing and that's just not something I'm all that interested in right now.
Also, I tend to get put off when all these critics start jumping on the bandwagon and hailing a group as "The greatest thing since the Beetles", "The saviors of rock 'n roll", and other stupid comments. I don't even think the Beetles are all that great, although they did influence a lot of people.
Tell you what. You give me two songs that you think are their best, I'll download them, and then I will try to decide what I think. For some reason it takes forever to download stuff here or I would ask for more.
