I found it to be odd when Bond and I were talking about Suikoden III on Xbox. He said he had checked several gaming sites and they didn't have it listed (the PS2 version, that is, I assume he wanted to see some screenshots). (it was also weird when Konami announced that the PAL version for PS2 was cancelled, after the extra work they did to fix the dialogue in Suikoden II for PAL). He said it may have been discontinued... so I was like "why? it has sold exceptioanlly well for a game that goes unnoticed by many gamers. And no other not so popular RPG has never been discontinued". So I searched, either sites dont have it listed (EB, GS), or they are selling really high (78 on amazon and
100 at half.com-- thats US currency), or they say the product has been back ordered or discontinued. Konami's site didn't say anything. I looked in the Konami's forums and there it was, 3 topics about Suikoden III being discontinued. People on Ebay are now selling the game for 70 bucks US. There hasn't been an official announcement by Konami yet I don't think... But I'm sure it will be soon.
I know some people here have the game (BF, DM, Rndm, CL, and myself). Thank god we bought the game when we did.
Which brings it down to one question: Why? Suikoden III was runner up for GOTY at IGN, and sold pretty well. Suikoden III sparked popularity in the series, and Suikoden I and II have been flying off half.com. I just don't get it.
Well, its a sad day for me... I guess this totally eliminates the chances of a Suikoden IV (at least not on this side of the Earth

). Maybe it's not official, maybe Konami is having production troubles? Who knows. All we know is that they are denying orders from game stores like EB and GameStop. Hopefully this isn't true... Suikoden is THE best PS2 game I've ever played, and a damn good series. Suikoden III was also planned for Xbox, I was happy for Xbox owners, such a great RPG that they could've looked forward to...but I guess that wont happen either.
Your thoughts? I dont expect many people to reply to this thread though (mainly the rpgers...)....
(Btw, I'm most interested in hearing Rndm_Perfection's opinion on this)
