Bischoff Invites Austin Back 'Home'
Quote:
"Eric Bischoff may have indeed found a way to shake up RAW and save his job. During RAW on Monday night, the general manager made two shocking announcements. Bischoff stated that everyone has been made aware of Vince McMahon's point of view regarding the departure of Stone Cold Steve Austin, but nobody has heard what the Texas Rattlesnake has to say. Therefore, Bischoff said, he has stopped the presses of RAW Magazine and will give Austin an open forum to present the story as he sees it.
But that's not all. Bischoff went so far as to extend an invitation to Stone Cold to return next month at No Way Out! Fans leapt to their feet upon hearing this invitation, making it obvious that Bischoff has gotten off to a good start in his efforts to avoid being replaced by Shane McMahon."

I am sorry, but Steve Austin is a sad excuse for a wrestler.
But he does have the main characteristics of most of WWE's audience... lol.

how is Steve Austin a sad excuse for a wrestler? I thought he was a pretty damn good athelete and had great mic skills.

I bet Austin will end up on Smackdown instead, as he seems to REALLY hate Brian Gerwirtz (Raw booker) for one thing.
Anyway, no matter what happens I'll make a prediction that they'll **** it up big time, somehow, someway. You could give them the biggest dream angle ever (WCW vs WWF anybody?) and they'd **** it up worse than you'd ever think possible.
So did anyone watch the Rumble? After being bored to tears from Steiner and Triple H's "awesome match", I was damn ready for Angle/Benoit and they more than delivered. That WILL be the WWE Match of the Year for 2003 unless they fight eachother and top it, you can count on that.
This year I'd love to see Chris Benoit win the belt, he just ****ing has to. After that standing ovation at the Rumble, you'd think Vince would get a clue, but I don't count on it. There are a lot of new, fresh feuds that can be done too, but of course don't count on any of them happening. Face Benoit vs heel Edge, Face Benoit vs heel jericho, Face Benoit vs heel Triple H, face Benoit vs heel Austin again (hey, it kicked ass the first time so who cares if it's not exactly new), Face Benoit vs heel Rocky... And that's only feuds for Benoit of course.
And Joeiss, Austin a sad excuse for a wrestler? I haven't liked his character (well, I LOVED the days when he was a heel feuding with Bret and when he was a heel feuding with Benoit...) much, but damn he has had some of the most classic WWE matches of all time. Benoit vs Austin from SD May 2001 that I got to see live, Austin vs Hart WM 13 and Survivor Series 96, Austin vs Rock Wm 17... Of course there's a lot more, but those ones in particular stand out in my mind as truly awesome matches.

*Slaps Chris* How dare you forget the 2 out of 3 falls match at No Way Out 2001 between him and Triple H, now that was a classi as well but I agree Austin has had some amazing matches and memorbale feuds and well some of the most memorable moments in wrestling.

Yeah, I pretty much hate real life Steve with his wife-beating, no jobbing ways, but as much as I try to hate him in every way possible, I just can't deny that he can wrestle. Plain and simple.
Edit: Oh yeah and I completely forgot about the Austin/Angle feud. Their Summerslam 2001 match was THAT DAMN GOOD.

Isn't that the one where H beat him twice and there was no third match? Or am I thinking of another match...?

*Looks in TheGame's wallet, pulls out some weed*
You really need to lay off that stuff man, Triple H and Stone Cold have only fought in 1, 2 out of 3 falls match ups, and the match saw Stone Cold win the first fall then Triple H take the remaining two. It was truly a classic.

God, that was the most boring match I have ever seen in my life. I almost felt asleep in that. I think that should be voted as the worst wrestling match for 2003 because I really hope there aren't any matches worst than that one.

I just think that Austin has no variety. I mean, it is the same old stuff everytime I saw him. Then again, the only times that I saw him wrestle was on RAW.... And SOME Smackdowns I guess... I haven't watched too many PPVs as well... So I don't know... Maybe I just missed all him amazing stuff.

Well, if all I say was Austin on Raw from '98-2000 like I'm assuming is when you saw most of him, then I wouldn't be very fond of him either. But do yourself a favour whenever you're bored, go get (*cough*download) some of the good Austin matches like Bret vs Austin from WM 13, Bret vs Austin from Survivor Series '96, etc.

Or Triple H vs Austin 2 Stages of Hell from No Way Out
Stone Cold vs the Rock at WrestleMania X-Seven
Stone Cold vs Kurt Angle at SummerSlam 2001
If you can track it down, Stone Cold vs Chris Benoit from May 29th, 2001 SmackDown or atleast I think it was around then
Basically look for any austin match pre-neck injury in 1997 and post neck surgery in 2001

*Agrees*
Oh, and you're right about that date. I would know, I was sitting their LIVE in the Skyreach Center. Best match I ever saw live, and my personal MATCH OF THE YEAR for 2001.
