Default Game Profile: Too Human (Pictures within)

Note: Most of the information in this topic is taken from an Interview with Denis by the GIA from a fairly long time ago.

Title: Too Human
Developers: Silicon Knights
Publisher: Nintendo
Release Date: N/A (Estimated 2003/2004)

"Too Human is a futuristic psychological thriller. It's a real-time adventure game that mixes elements of role-playing, like Kain, cinematography like Final Fantasy, and a solid storyline. Too Human is also very much like Metal Gear Solid where we give the player the option to explore things the way he wants to and be stealth if he wants to, or be action packed if he wants to. That's the best way I would describe it. We really think it's going to break the mold on a lot of games. We've never seen a single game that's similar to it out there, quite frankly. It's role-playing under the surface. Maybe some people would classify it as adventure. We classify it as...what would be a really neat experience in the future. What would it be like in the year 2450? Well, this is what we think it's like."
-Denis Dyack

The story revolves around a man named John Franks (Image). Hes an undercover police officer infiltrating a corporation into their security forces to investigate another corporation. Denis says that on top of that there are many things behind the scenes happening that makes this game very multi-dimensioned. Though everything ties together and there are no loose ends.

And interesting thing they also added to the game was a digital archive of events. Everything that happened between now and 2450 when the story takes place. Whether thats of any use is not known.

He also says that given the size of this game they are constantly concerned with disc size. They think they most likely will have to use multiple disc. There is a lot of FMV in Too Human, more-so then any Final Fantasy game and you should expect many 'surprises'.

In terms of graphical acheivment you can expect the FMV and the in-game to integrate well, and you probably wont notice the difference. Denis says he would go as far to say the graphics he is producing in game now is better then the old FMVs (see the next post).

Denis says he would love to take advantage of the GC's Online capabilities. I personaly dont see how it would work, but oh well.

"Although we are not saying too much about Too Human, my guess is that most people will classify it as an action adventure because it is all real-time. However there are many role playing elements within the game so opinions may differ."

There will also be some pre-rendered and FMV cutscenes, and he says you wont be able to tell the difference.

(P.s. I think I made this topic in 10 min, so it will probably get some work done on it over time).

To that, I say doubtful. But, I guess it could be true. Those pics look sweet. If hte game is as good as those pics like he said they are, I think we're in for a nice treat.

P.S.- that bottom guy looks like Kung Lao

Has SK confirmed that they are working on Too Human now? I would assume so, since ED was finished quite for time ago, and they could possibly be amking an ED sequel..they aren't a very big company so I don't think they can develop many games at once.

They are more likely working on TH, which has been in the works for 9 years, and was what ED's engine was based on, rather then ED2. As you can see they have everything worked out, even the technical side of it.
