Default Gamecube V. 2.0

a new gamecube is said to hit the market in the coming year. not gamecube 2 mind you, but a gamecube version 2. analysts say that the new cube will be a more portable version of the cube. sort of like the PSone. if they do that, it will be a square plate shaped device, in order to fit the gba adapter on it.

That would be pretty cool. The GCN is already small enough, and yet they will be making it smaller...

Personally, I don't see a need for it. I think they should just continue to focus on a new future console and current games for Gamecube.

definitely a price drop, then my friends could be convinced to get gamecubes (all have ps2) which is fine, but they really like what they see on my cube and would be swayed by a price drop... the v2 seems kinda strange for N to be focusing on something with a questionable user base/market

I'd like to see a price drop...then I could buy the system and Zelda:WW (and pray for a new 2D-style Mario and/or DKC)

Im sure if they made it they would lower it at least a little, like 129.99, or something.

You can make your cube portable, though its pricey. Batterypack, Gamecube TV, and the Gamecube itself.

Hmm... the Mini discs make it all possible.

A price drop would be nice.

Why would they compete with the GBA?? Or would it be like... the merging of portable and normal consoles??

Would the disc drive be build into the screen which would be build into the controller???

Kind of like the PSOne I suppose. But it's probably just an attempt to boost sales.

I dont think they care if it competes with GBA, as long as they make $$$.

PSOne is a portable system... And they use CD's, which are the same size a DVD's... So regular disks make is possible, too!

True, but Mini-discs make it even more portable! I would like to see this 'Cube Ver. 2. But I wonder if any future games after 'Cube ver. 2 is released will have any special features that can only be seen on 'Cube ver. 2. Or have some features disabled(since I figure the screen will be a wee bit small). Unless they make it like the GBA where you can link up 4 'Cube ver. 2's and you can do multi that way. I'll just wait for more info. on this supposed new 'cube. Oh yeah, I remember way back I think when the 'Cube was first announced that they would like to use the mini-discs in future (portable?) hardware. Maybe this has something to do with that.

Wtf? Isn't the GCN already portable enough? Or do they plan to munch it all in with a Game Boy player?

All in all I wouldn't bet on it, but I would on that smaller Xbox rumour.
