Gamespots best and worst of 2002
http://gamespot.com/gamespot/features/all/bestof2002/
With over 100 categories, this will take you a long time to go through. Took me 45 minutes and I skipped a lot. Definately worth your time though, I think they do a good job overall. I'll let you guys read it yourselves before I say anything, so I dont spoil the surprise factor.
Note to mods: I wasnt sure what forum this belonged to, so feel free to move it if you feel it fits better someplace else.

Funniest game (purposely) and GTA:VC wasn't even nominated? Bah!... BAH!
I agree with their most deserving of a remake though... I played Bionic Command an uber lot when I was a wee child...
weeee I prefer the smaller categories! The big categories sux0rz... Kinda...

This belongs to Fight Club.
I was expecting a clash between GTA VC and Metroid Prime for game of the year... I don't know if I was surprised or not..

Splinter Cell was not even a nominee for the GOTY award?
Super Mario Sunshine got the Most Disappointing Game Award for GameCube- what are the folks over at GameSpot smoking?
Those dudes have some weird opinions...

Yeah, I got really pissed off at that. Mario Sunshine...Gamecube's "most dissapointing" game of the year... Now you know why I hate them!
SMS is my favorite Gamecube game out there...(Yes, I like it more than Metroid)
Also, Splinter Cell is an awesomke game. I just beat the demo and I am impressed.
Gamespot is full of it, they need to take that stick out of their asses for once and be honest.

They also said SMS was the best platformer...I think. It wasnt a huge disappointment out of all games, just that they got their hopes high because its Mario. I would say SFA was a larger dissapointment though...

Yes, SFA should've got that title. Also, they said SMS was the best platformer because it was the only platformer on the Cube. If SMS was the ONLY platformer on the cube, then what the hell do you call Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex..? A sports game maybe!?
Vexx is probably a simulation/strategy game while Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly is a puzzle game.
Mario or no Mario, SMS did not, and I repeat, did freaking-not, deserve Most Disappointing game for the Gamecube.

Bleh, they stink. They seriously stink. I don't believe them at all.
I probably came to agree on, like, at least two awards.
Plus, they didn't even mention Bloody Roar: Primal Fury. "Luk, heer's all teh fighting games on the cube: MKDA. And teh winnur is......... MKDA!!!!111"
Goddamn retards.

I can see why they found Sunshine to be dissapointing. I was somewhat dissapointed. I mean, compared to the revolutionary jumps other Mario games made, why shouldnt we expect this one to do the same? Dissapointing graphics, dissapointing ending. SFA, on the other hand, had uber cool graphics, and one hell of an ending IMO. Didnt dissapoint me.

Who cares if this graphics were dissapointing? It was not only that, but the whole damn game was dissapointing. It was exactly like Sm64, go through the levels, collect shines (not only that, SM64 and SMS both had the same amount of shines/stars to collect, how creative). The only thing new was the water pack. And that's not enough to make a great game. And I agree, the ending was stupid, but the graphics don't really matter.

In your opinion. These awards were the opinions of the people at GameSpot, and I agree with SMS getting Most Disappointing Game. The game really, really let me down. Yes, it was a good game, but it wasn't up to the standards of the other Mario games. It just didn't stand out like the other Marios, that's why it was a big disappointment...

So let's say SMS wasn't a Mario game. Let's say it was a different character with a different title.
So it would get a better rating and it wouldn't be the "most disappointing" game for the Gamecube? If it does, then that's just plain stupid.

Graphics...? Oh, not this again. So you chose graphics over gameplay? I sure don't. Wow, SFA had a little better graphics. Sure, the SMS ending sucked...But what Mario ending didn't suck? Hell, even Mario RPG's ending sucked! Also, I thought SFA ending was the gayest thing I've ever seen in my life. Seriously, I mean, the Falco part was awesome, but the rest...? You aren't even able to go back and mess around... What I mean is, the game has NO replay value. Thus, Mario has lots of replay. The gameplay in Mario wins over SFA's gameplay. It's obvious, Gamespot's not that great of a reviewer... I am aware it's all opinion but what the hell kind of opinion is that!?
I'm sorry, but I just hate Gamespot. I hated them ever since they reviewed one of my favorite games of all time back in 1998, Tales of Destiny for the Playstation.
