Default Famitsu loves Zelda!

10 / 10 / 10 / 10 = 40/40

3 other titles that have ever recieved a perfect 40/40 from Famitsu: Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64), Vagrant Story (PS1) and Soul Calibur (DC).

Source: Japanese Text

And this is the Main Famitsu.

That's enough to convince me to buy this.

Now before I pre-order...

Is pre-ordering the only way to get the bonus Majoras Mask and Ura?

If yes, can I reserve or pre-order anywhere or does special offer only apply to certain retailers?

1) You dont get MM. You get OOT and "Master Quest" which is a slight different version of OOT.

2) As of the moment, any retailer that gives out pre-orders will give you the disc. I dont know if you must buy it after the 'official' pre-order start date, but EBgames.com seems to promise it for pre-orders at anytime.

Well, I hope I can find a place that does Pre-orders... last time I reserved Metroid Prime at Microplay, it didn't arrive until a WEEK after! I got fed up and bought it on the 19th at a different place. I'm not making the same mistake twice....

I wonder where my local EB is...

Damn, a perfect score is damn near impossible.

First Metroid, now this. This is almost too much.

I really hope Nintendo really advertises the high scores it will inevitably get or else people may stay turned off because of graphics...

I'm glad I pre-ordered my copy at EB already.

Metroid Prime isn't out yet in Japan. I think.

Woa 40 for Zelda: WW! If this can't convince ppl, I don't know what can!

And I really hope they do the bonus disc in Europe too!

Heh, I wonder where all the zelda haters are now (of the toon-shading).

I guess those impressions about LoZ:WW being one of the best games of all time weren't bogus!

This game will rock!

Edit:

Here are the impressions from famitsu, translated by ikachii of the IGN boards.

Quote:
Grade: 10

"A level of astoundment that exceeds even that exhibited by the previous "Ocarina". Despite being a completely new and ground-breaking work, it's amazing how this title managed to retain everything that defines 'Zelda' to begin with. If you're looking for a new plane of visual expression in games, one different from both photorealistic and anime styles, it can be found right here. Also features a unprecedented depth of story and adventure within the series that takes place across an ocean. To sum up: this title is 100% zelda, and is an absolutely must-play title."

Grade: 10
"Utilizing tone rendering as a catalyst of visual expression of sorts and combining it with the highest quality gameplay, game environments and production values, a a miraculous chemical reaction is created with this incredible title. It makes you realize once again that video games truly are the most superior form of entertainment out there. Whatever you do in within the game, it doesn't fail to entertain you in some way. Trust me when I say you won't fail to fall in the love with the world presented within this title."

Grade: 10
"Any pangs of anxiety you might have in regards to the anime-like presentation of this game will vanish once you play this title, which will leave no doubts in your mind that this is truly Zelda. The emotions of the various characters come across with an unbelievable level of realism due through eye-based movements/expressions, and there are times when you'll find yourself extremely affected and even on the verge of tears. With a perfect level of difficulty in regards to both the puzzles and battles, this title rewards you immensely for playing it!"

Grade: 10
"Whether it be the in-game events, puzzles, or presentation, you'll find yourself experiencing a range of human emotions from puzzlement to amazement. Everytime you pick up this title to proceed onwards in your quest, you'll discover an increased level of excitement. I swear to god I felt like a excited child picking up a videogame for the first time when I played this title. The new setup that allows even those who have never experienced the series to immediately feel right at home gets a huge thumbs up from me."

After reading those grades, it seems to me this game will be everything Zelda should be. Incredible gameplay, Goregous graphics, but possibly most of all, the game actually pulls you in. The only time I was ever close to tears in a videogame came in OOT, when Link leaves the forest. If this game can truly deliver stomach lurching scenes like that, along with everything else they mention, and the great sound and zelda music to boot, who knows, it could pass up OOT as the greatest game ever, IMO.

and if only 3 other games have ever recieved perfect scores from Famitsu, this simply once again proves that The Legend of Zelda is the best Action/Adventure seires ever created, and that Nintendo is the best developer in the world.
