That's PS2's best shooter? If so then... I feel bad for PS2 owners.

If it's on Pc (which I think it is) I'd rather play it with a mouse and keyboard.
So is it on pc?

I thought Red Faction 2 was supposed to be pretty good... People are probably just like "Ewwwww" because Red Faction 1 got average reviews (although I still thought it was pretty fun, but it lacked enemy variety and such)... Meh whatever, I've never played 2... And chances are on NGC it will just have a bunch of framerate problems and such because it'll be a crummy port or something

Man. I'm surprised this isn't getting better reactions from you guys. I really enjoyed Red Faction. I'm hoping the sequel will be as good.
Anyway, I guess that's just my 2 cents...

when was it announced?
Oh yeah, and Red faction is not Ps2's best shooter. TS2 is... unless we are talking best exclusive one. (well was the best excusive one)

Red Faction = cool
Red Faction 2 = bleh
its pretty weird when a game's sequel emphasizes on the bad points of its predecessor and uses its good points in all the wrong ways.

all the cool aspects of the being able to blow up the evironments, walls, and such is used to a much crappier extent in RF2. sometimes its really just pointless, like the developers threw it into the game just to make people say "cool, i can blow up the walls and stuff!!"
plus it feels extremely linear. everything about RF2 just feels so dumbed-down compared to RF1. it just feels boring

I actually enjoy the hell out of Red Faction II, even moreso that Timesplitters 2 (which some decided to become VERY colorful for some reason)...
RF2 kicks ass most in multiplayer though (damn two-port PS2 and having to buy a multitap )..particularly this map called "WarGods" where you basically battle it out on one huge open area enclosed by mountains and two colloseum-type structures. The structures can be destroyed by rockets, of course, so there are no real hiding places.
Playing this stage with four peeps and two bots added on (you can only have 6 players max) causes more chaos than the four-on-four human bot wars I used to have in Perfect Dark some years ago...really good $hit; and I hope it's hits the Cube- or at least the Xbox...something with FOUR ports for once...
But the best shooter for PS2 I think is Turok, UC for Xbox, and Nightfire for the Cube.
