Console 2002 Release List Debate

Okay, here we can argue as to which system (out of Gamecube, XBox and Playstation2) has the best game lineup for the remainder of 2002. Games like SOCOM, SMS, SMB2, Onimusha 2 cannot be part of your arguement since they've already been released.

Anyways, I'm gonna say that the PS2 has the best upcoming 2002 lineup. But not by a lot by any means.

-Sly Cooper
-Kingdom Hearts
-Grand Theft Auto: Vice City
-Ratchet and Clank
-Contra: Shattered Soldier
-Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness
-Lord of the Rings: the Two Towers
-Shinobi
-Red Faction 2
-The Getaway

XBox is a close second with such titles as Unreal Championship and Splinter Cell, with Gamecube in 3rd with Metroid Prime being the big gun

you forgot StarFox for GC. (edit... unless your just naming off the games YOU want, i kinda thought you were naming off the good games coming out for each. )

And id have to go on and say that is quite a lot. its for 3 close to 4 moths. for that many good games.

i'll have to say some of thoes wont be too great. put ps2 defently got the most.

And when you think about actuallying going out and wanting to buy these games, thats a lot to think about in a 4 month span. actually it can be quite overwelming. hehe.

Gunna be a good christmas tho.

Hmm... I haven't heard much about some of those PS2 games, but PS2 at least has quantity. If they all come out this year.
GC has some really good franchises coming up, but can they compete with games as GTA:VC?

Anyway, I'll be happy with my black Cube.

SMS is coming out in less than a month (yeah laugh about it).

there may not be a game at all that can beat Vice City this year. Metroid may have a chance if its as good as people say it is. Altho they're completely differnt games so they might not compare well.

You saved yourself with that line. Saying Metriod (or any new content for that matter) will be better than GTA:VC can be taken as an insult, a BIG one.... Kinda like saying Ratchet and Clank will be better than Zelda.

On the topic:

Ps2 has a serious advantage with GTA:VC, it's almost unfair to compare thier line-ups with such a killer app on the horizon. Take away this single game, and the line-ups become a lot more even. But, that would be unfair to have this game gone.

I would honestly pass on Xbox's and GCN's whole (upcoming) 2002 line-ups just for GTA:VC, so I think I can't really make a comparision.

well i was kinda meaning as in games sold. But even that has no chance, the preorders alone for VC might beat most games.

Well, I think, that in the eyes of a casual gamer, PS2 has the best lineup. I mean with GTAVC and all...(even though I dont like GTA

)..I mean, I'm not saying its only casual gamers that will buy GTAVC...but you gotta admit, casual gamers will be like "Stealing cars and killing, w00t!!" or something like that so I would say that GTAVC is a killer game...and also, because I am a hardcore RPG gamer, I love PS2's fall line up, it has so many good RPGs that you people just seem to ignore, like, besides KH, there are just as good RPGs like: Grandia Xtreme, Legaia 2, Suikoden III, RPG Maker 2...just to name a couple, I never see anyone here even care about those games...meh.

Anyway, as for GCN, in terms of the games that I want to buy, it has the most diversity, besides RPGs, theres nothing else on PS2 that I would buy besides them RPGs...yeah...games like DMC2 and Sly Cooper can all be beaten if I rent them

. But for GCN there are games like MP, SFA, AC, PSO...all games that I want to get this fall...plus theres NHl 2K3 but thats also on PS2 so I can't compare.

Games That I want:
GCN: Metroid Prime, Animal Crossing, PSO, Star Fox Adventures, NHL 2K3 (ok so I cant really compare cuz its on other consoles, but I dont care

)
PS2: Legaia 2, KH, Suikoden III

See what I Mean By Diversity? all I want for PS2 is rpgs...

But, its time to make a fair judgement:
GCN: MP, AC, SFA, PSO, Bond Nightfire, and I know there are a few more, but I cant really remember them.

PS2: KH, Suikoden III, Legaia 2, GTAVC, Sly Cooper, Ratchet And Clank..hmm...what else is there besides Sports games....uh..anywho...

I guess really, there is no true "best fall line up" ...it all depends on what games YOU want to get, so I'd say arguing about it is stupid and pointless, but you can go ahead.

I only want 7 games this year...3 PS2...3 GCN ..+ NHl 2K3 but thats on all consoles...so....

I'd say its a tossup between PS2 and GCN, really....Xbox has...like..what...Shenmue 2 and Splinter Cell? ...but then again Splinter Cell is multi platform..oooh and theres Panzer Dragoon too...

Yeah, so in conclusion: it's the buyer's opinion, its what games you want.

hard to say, i'm really looking forward to huge solid rpgs for ps2, i'll probly just rent everything else for ps2. GCN i'll be buying a lot of different games, SFA, MP, AC, Skies of arcadia, PSO, and wutever else i feel like buying. i dont have an xbox, so i dont really care about its line up. i think it must be a tie between PS2 and GCN, i cant decide.
