Resident Evil 2 + 3
I recently read in a mag that Resi 2 and 3 will be direct ports costing around $19.95 (well, in the States). Don't get me wrong, however, I wouldn't want these to distract Capcom from Resi 0 and definately not Resi 4, but when I originally heard the news that all of the Resident Evil series (bar Resident Evil: Online) were to be on the GC, the prospect of an updated Resi 2 looked promising, as it is the only Resi game I have completed. As much as I want Resident Evil 0 finished it wouldn't harm Capcom to at least remake the models in the game, sharpen up the visuals and better sound quality (I had Resident Evil 2 on the N64, and the speech was awful). Thats what I think anyway...

i was disapointed by that news too. RE2 and RE3 were the coolest games in the series IMO. wut a shame, they would've been so cool. just imagine an improved RE3 with the crazy nemesis chasing you around with improved visuals and new areas....*sigh*

I guess the good thing is that they'll annoy us so much that when RE0 or RE4 comes out our hopes will be so low it'll be fantastic and we'll jump for joy and shout out aloud to the heavens "My God this is brilliant"!!!!
Ahem

Have you seen the pics?? Look for them on www.cube-europe.com
Terrible, almost a disgrace for the GameCube.

It's a direct port from the PSX verion of the game (although the resolution was bumped to 640x480). How can you expect it to be any better. They just wanted the games out there. They thought they did a good enough job on them that they had no need to remake the game.
Honestly, for $20 I don't know what anybody should be bitching about....

Did a good enough job on them? RE3?
IMO, RE1 is the best of the series, and that's the one that gets remade?
Anyways... I think really they just wanted to kick off the RE series on NGC with a BANG so they remade RE1 and made it all purty and then they release ports until they release the all new ones which will also be PURTY...
But yeah, I don't see how anybody would consider it a "disgrace" for a gamecube game since err... well, really it's a PSX game... Like thatmariolover said, we've known for a long time there would be like no graphical improvements, and the games will be cheap soooo.... quit yer bitchin

Yeah! At least remake Nemesis alone. About Resident Evil 2, IMO It should be a complete remake. It's the best in the series IMO . I liked the mood of the game. It would be great if it had the graphics cuality of the remake.

If the magazine was NGC, then you made a wise purchase indeed.

I don't know why they are doing a direct port of the PSX version. Why not the DC version(s)? Its the same damn game.

Err..... Aren't the DC versions just direct ports of the PSX versions?
I don't think it would make much of a difference, if any...
