from what i see. its getting much much better.

The 20GB player is a bit more then i paid for my 20GB player. And doesnt have all the options mine does. yet.

But a few things it does have going for it over mine..... Remote. which i find very handy. cuz i put it in my pocket alot............ And its smaller. altho mine still fits in my pocket. its obvious that its there. while this would fit in more like a Wallet.

Calender thing is nice. FireWire is Very nice if you have the connections for it.

Im not sure how the upgrades or stuff work on it. cuz mine i can download new versions and it can add new options for me.

But if the iPod can do that. And it continues getting more options at a cheaper price. i might return mine and get this.

I like the new thing where the buttons for scrolling and whatnot are now digital and not the old way that it was. I might look into this, but it depends.

Come on Jonbo, you know you've been dying to get your hands on one of these, admit it.

Well, Apple's giving you that chance now to be a part of the magic. Seize the day!

I'd get one. The look isnt too bad, and it seems real easy to use and now with Win. support, I might get one. But without a job(gotta wait for docs. approval), I'm a little short on cash. Unless....

: sdtpikachu is still more than happy with his minidisc :

£200 gave me the ability to fit about 20 hours music into a pocket.

Besides, I've not seen a single music player with .ogg support. Plus I can just plug my MD into my USB port and drag and drop music onto the minidisc. Ah...

iPods support software update. I got a 10GB iPod right now. It's 10% fatter, doesn't have the firewire door, remote, case, or new scrollwheel, but I can download the iPod 1.2 software in August and still use all the new features with the calendar and crap.

And if I really wanted the remote and case, they would be $40 a pop.

^ My mp3 player....

Things i like... The wheel makes it easy and quick to fly down the list of songs. And it storts them by letter. so you goto the letter first. then go thro the files in that letter. very handy.

Other features i really like on it.

im not exactly sure about all the ipod options. But if at somepoint it gets All the options on mine that i like. and the price comes down. cuz my 20gb only costed 350.

I will SOOOOOOOOOOO return mine and get this. I bought the extended warenty on mine. they say i have like 2 years to return it for whatever reason i want no questions asked. =) so hell. even if the price comes down on mine i can return mine and get it cheaper. lol

But i really like the size of the ipod. and that damned remote. i WANT a remote. they're very useful

The iPod has the wheel. What other options are you looking for? The only thing I know it doesn't have is the radio, and I was hoping for one too. But surprisingly, I have yet to think of the radio since I got my iPod.

well the radio is handy say when your out. want to listen to a Sports game.

or say some news.

Talk radio in the morning.

Stuff thats live. For music. obviously you'd use all the mp3's.

i really like the menu system in the Riot. i know thats not a major thing. but i like it.

i like how it sorts the songs. but i think prolly ipod does it like that too? First letters A thro Z, you pick on a letter then pick the song from that list in the letter?

I like how it keeps track of your most played songs. Then you can say Play my top10 or my top50 or whatnot.

Play new songs. say in the past week/month/year.

Can tell it to play songs from whatever year... Say i feel like hearing only the songs from the 80's.

Can tell it to play songs that i havnt played in whatever time you want.

Random for a set number of minutes/hours.

I mean and theres other options too.

Its not any single thing that stands out that i like about the Riot.

its basically everything put together. I LOVE options. even if i dont use things i like to have the option of using them if i want.

iPod sorts by Artist, then Album, or playlist, or just a list of songs. Doesn't sort by the letter, no real need. You can scroll down fast enough.

I'm not sure about the top50 or whatever. I know iTunes 3 has some of that new stuff, but I'm not sure how much of it will be on iPod 1.2.

Are you sure you can buy them separatley? I thought it only comes with the 10 and 20. If so, I'm buying the remote ASAP.
