Default Penguin's SpiderMan Preview

This is what happens when school gives you a week off and the last few days are rather dull.... Um I need to work on my preview writing skills but eh..I'll post this anyhow because SpideRMan is cool

Spider-Man...Spider-Man..Does whatever a spider can...

SpiderMan was never properly represented in a video game. For that matter not many superheros were ever done justice in a videogame. Just look at SuperMan 64. The streak changed for SpiderMan when Activision released SpiderMan for the PSX in 2000 which was followed by ports to the n64 and DC. Then came SpiderMan 2: Enter Mysterio which was meet with some decent reviews and was till well accepted.

Activision plans to go 3 for 3 for SpiderMan games with the release of Spider-Man:The Movie. The game is slated to be released for the PS2,GameCube and X-Box in April.

The game will be developed by TreyArch who were responsible for the port of the original SpiderMan to the DreamCast. The game will used an enhanced version of the original game and will sport improved visuals.

As the name suggests, the game will be based on the movie which is done out around the same time. SpiderMan will sport the costume from the movie which has a bit more detail then his original comic book costume used in the previous versions. In order to keep the game fresh and a bit more unpredictable. The game will not follow the entire script of the movie. The main villian will till be the Green Goblin but some of Spidey's other villians will appear such as the Shocker and the original Vulture.

The game will also try to address the problem that plagued the first two games and pretty much every 3D game, the camera system. TreyArch plans on making the camera a bit more intelligent as it will try and do a better job of following the player whether it be in enclosed areas or while Spidey is swingin from building to building.

The game already spots some great visuals and a sound engine. Hopefully TreyArch is able to fix the camera problems the first two games suffered from. Other than that this game is shaping up to be another hit for eveyone's friendly neighborhood Spider. The game should arrive in April or around the release of the movie in May.
