Thumbs down Mobile Monitor for the XBox

Following the release of its mobile monitor for the GameCube and the announcement of its mobile monitor for the PlayStation 2, Interact has announced that it's currently working on a mobile monitor for the Xbox. The mobile monitors are designed to attach to the system, enabling Xbox owners to theoretically use the system while on the go. Interact also plans to release a universal converter and car adaptor that will power 110V devices through a car's cigarette lighter socket.
"Since the announcements about our newest mobile monitors, we've heard from our consumers and they are psyched to be able to take their consoles on the road and have the option to play their favorite video games," said Rodney Hillman, vice president of product development for Interact. "We are offering all the necessary equipment to take any video game system in the car, across town to Grandma's house, across the street to a friend's house, or even to take it to a vacation rental or hotel. You don't have to leave your system at home anymore when you go away."

The Xbox mobile monitor is scheduled for release in September.

To me, this is just wrong. The XBox can't fit into your vehicle, nor be lugged around for "mobile" play. Hell, if you were on a camping trip, carrying the thing alone is a day's worth of hiking. But I guess, if they think they can make money off of it, then go ahead.

Uhh...

The idea fit GC better, handle, better design for it. The concept remained dumb, but it was na interesting thought. This? Interact could spend money on other things, like a GameShark destruction plant.

The Xbox is perfect.

Oh ya, and I forgot, you shouldn't be using Xbox while in the car. Accessing HD... hit bump... HD scratches... Xbox is now unusable, and if you buy a new one, you have no more saves.

That was a problem during the initial shipments too, some came with defective HDs, and they couldn't use them at all.

No mobile with Xbox. Xbox mobile = bad.

Even I think this mobile monitor for the Xbox is a bad idea, I mean hardly anyone is going to use it. But I guess since the Playstation 2 and GameCube will or have be getting one the Xbox just had to have one also.

This is sad.

I carried my X-Box over to my friend's house and it was one hell of a task. And now they also want to stick a LCD on it for additional weight??

Also were the hell are you going to play the X-Box?? In a car?? The slightest tap can easily screw up the hard-drive.
