Top Ten Games of All Time
List your favorite 10 video games that you've ever played. They can be anything from Frogger to Metal Gear Solid 2. List them from 10-1 and be sure to include some reasons why you thought they deserve what they got.
10.)Starcraft- This was one of the first online games that I've played. The game itself was fun and addictive, and the online playability only made it better.
9.)Tetris- This is one of those games that I could play for hours, non stop. I never really got into this game until I got it on my TI-83 Plus calculator 2 years ago. It got me through the long boring classes that would otherwise seem endless.
8.)Super Smash Bros- This game set a new standard for it's genre, and is still the king of multi-player games. One thing that makes it so great is that everyone can play it, whether you're just entering kindergarden, or graduating college.
7.)Final Fantasy 7 & 9- I know they're two seperate games, but I couldn't decide which one was better. They both have memorable characters, good storylines, and great gameplay.
6.)Metal Gear Solid- At first I wasn't all that impressed, but as the game progressed everything kept on getting better and better until it was near perfect. The storyline was full of twists, and the bosses were intimidating.
5.)Chrono Trigger- Like FF7, this game helped the RPG genre become popular. Not only did this game have a great storyline, but it also had good graphics(for SNES), a good battle system, and unforgettable characters.
4.)Counter-Strike- This game is extremely popular around where I live, people are willing to pay 3 bucks an hour for several hours to play at PC Labs, and I'm one of those people. I'm not sure if it's the graphics, the gameplay, or the fact that you can play with friends, but whatever it is, it works.
3.)Advance Wars- Like Tetris, this game has helped me to kill time at school. The thing about this game that's so great is the replay value. It's almost as if it never gets old. It has so many modes, and once you've beaten all the maps you can create your own.
2.)Legend of Zelda:OoT- What can I say, this game may have a weak storyline, but everything else makes up for it. I liked this game so much that I've beaten it more than 7 times.
1.)Super Mario Bros 3- This was one of my very first video games I've ever played, and it remains one of my favorites. Although I haven't beaten it until recently, I've spent hours upon hours trying to get passed the different bosses and worlds ever since I was 6. This game was the start of an incredible franchise.

UPDATE TO 6
Oh god, this is going to be difficult, I can tell right now, and even after I come up with a deceant list, im sure I will have missed some great games that I should've put on the list...oh well...
10. Rollercoaster Tycoon-I dont normally care much for simulation games, but this one is different. Just so much fun to watch the guests ride your rides. I also have both expansion packs
9. Banjo Kazooie-Just really neat platform action. And the graphics were unlike anything at the time.
8.Super Mario Bros/Duck hunt-possibly the mother of all games in my opinion. Also the first great platformer of all time. Paved the way for hundreds, maybe thousands, of games.
7. Wave Race-One of the first games I bought for N64, also one of the greatest. The wave effects were unlike anything Id ever seen, and the way your jet ski bounced off those waves was just so much fun to control, I spent hours in the Dolphin Park mode alone.
6. Grim Fandango-The greatest Adventure game ever. Quite possibly the greatest storyline ever also. This is how an Adventure game should be made. Perfect voice acting, Origional characters, great soundtrack, great puzzles, intuative control scheme. You'll laugh. You'll cry. You will love this game.
5. Sonic the Hedgehog-Sonic was just so unlike any other game at that time, it was so fun to play. Just running fast as sonic watching things whiz past that hedgehog with attitude was great. And a great soundtrack.
4. Mario Kart 64-Some thought this game was a dissapointment, but they couldnt be more wrong. This game was just insane fun all around. The items, the shortcuts, and there just isnt anything like hitting an opponent with a shell right before they cross the finish line...
3. Super Mario 64-the game that defined a 3d platformer. Simple as that. I will never forget just running around the castle courtyard just wowing at the graphics. and the control was spot on.
2. Super Mario Bros. 3-The greatest 2d platformer of all time. Everything about the game was so fun, from the between level bonus stages, to the item that turned mario into a frog...
1. Legend of Zelda, OOT.-Quite simply the greatest game ever made. It might never be beat. The graphics were incredible, the realtime lighting, to the expression on link's face, the dungons, the story, the bosses, the music, everything was perfect. If you dont like this game, your crazy.

10) Super Tecmo Bowl (NES)
The first NFL Game, hell, the first sports game ever to include full statistics and a real season mode. This set the standards for all football and sport franchises that came after
9) Zelda Oricle of Seasons(GBC)
I don't exactly know why, but I have grown more attached to that game than ANY of the 2d Zeldas ever made. FAR more features than other 2d Zeldas, and one of the most complex story-lines of any Zelda game.
8) Gran Turismo 2 (Psx)
Self explanitory. The best Racer ever. It has basically in encyclopedia of cars, and addicting gameplay. I would have put GT3, but the amount of cars doesn't live up to GT2.
7) Pokemon Red/Blue (GB)
This game is an example of how to take a television series, and pull all of the features into a Video game. Extremly addicting, and just basic fun.
6) Tony Hawk Pro Skater Series (Psx/Ps2)
The game skating fans have been waiting for. Took skating games to the next level. After Tony Hawk, every other extreme sport game on the market got 10x better.
5) WWF No Mercy (N64)
The second installment of a WWF series that has kept me playing for over a year. I still find time to play this game, even though newer systems have come out with newer games like Smackdown 3, WMx8, and Raw... there has still yet to be a wrestling game to take the crown.
4) Tetris (GB)
Example of effective simplicity. It's a simple puzzle game that has taken over 200 hours of my life.
3) Mortal Kombat Trillogy (Psx)
Compilation of my favorite fighting game of all time. I loved everything about this game, from the story lines to the all-out brawling.
Madden Series
Football game series never get better... period. This series consistantly gets better year after year, and the developers of this game try to take advantage of every console this game is released on unlike other developers.
And the best of all time is...
Undefined.
I got tangled up in a three way tie between
Mario 3, Zelda OoT, and Sonic 3...
but now that I'm typing here, I have come to a conclusion... the REAL top three, based off of play time are:
1. Sonic 3
2. Mario 3
3. Zelda OoT

well......
10. Final Fantasy VI - this game had everything you would expect a 2D RPG to have, character development, great storyline, good battle system, it was fun to play.
9. Metal Gear Solid - This game was great, no doubt. I beat this game countless times.
8. Final Fantasy X - FFX revolutionized RPGs. It did a great job of eliminating an overworld map, the voices were great IMO, battle system and sphere grid were also great, storyline was not that bad, couldve been better though.
7. Super Mario Bros. 3 - This game so fun I can't even put it in words. I must've played this game for more than 250 hours when I was kid!
6. Legend Of Legaia - I loved the battle system for this game, characters were cool too. Hard to explain how good this game was, better if ya play it yourself.
5. Xenogears - Damn! Cool mechs, cool characters, kickin storyline (and quite confusing!). Xenogears was great, and I can't wait for Xenosaga!!!
4. Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time - There's nothing to hate about this game. It revolutionized what 3D adventures should be. It was definatley the best game for N64, and I still play this game.
3. Final Fantasy VII - This game too revolutionized games of its genre. Like most say, this game did make RPGs more popular. This game had a lot of action, and a great storyline.
2. Chrono Trigger - Ah yes, the Chrono series. These games, are like, THE BEST!!! Lol, sorry, but I can't really put it into words. CT had a wondeful storyline, great characters, even though the main character never talked, you can tell how much he dveloped throughout the story, now thats character development!!!
1. Chrono Cross - The sequel to CT, most will say CT was better, but IMO, CC is better. Although the 40 + characters eliminated a lot of character development, the mian characters still developed pretty good. CC aso has my fav. battle system of all time, the stamina and element grid system, its so awesome! A lot of characters were neat and each had their own element grid and techs that belonged to them. Many say CC wasnt a true sequel to CT, well, if you actually payed attention to CC, you would see that it IS a true sequel. Like c'mon, Azala creating the Time Devourer, sending Dinopolis into 9,000 BC, Kid being Schala's clone, Schala merging with the Time Devourer, and more too...all of that was tied in with CT some way or another. Why did Azala forward Dinopolis into the future, cuz he and the reptites wouldve died from Lavos!
Lol, sorry for the lecture on CC's storyline, but anyway, the game is great, and I can't wait for Chrono Break (there are still many plotholes!)

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the PokeMon TV show based on the cartoon. Not the game based on the TV show. The main issue with that in America is, I believe the TV show made it's debut a month before the game came out.
*Shrugs*
Anyhow my Top Ten Games List. This will be tough.....
10)My GCN Collection- Well, it's a tad too early to see the affect the games I have for GCN will have on me, but for the time being I'm having fun with it. I haven't been sorely disappointed in anything I purchased from WM x8 to LM. I enjoy it all. Here's hoping that SMS continues in the legacy.
9)Streets of Rage (1,2 and 3)- I don't know. I really did enjoy those old school beat-em ups. I mean some of the cooler ones were the licensed ones like TMNT 4- Turtles in Time, but Streets of Rage still holds it's place in time as probably the greatest of the bunch.
8)Conker's Bad Fur Day- I don't know what it is about this game. It's probably a combination of it's killer gameplay, raunchy humor and o so daring parodies that made this game the n64's swan song.
7)AKI N64 Games- It would be selfish to give a bunch of sports to each game, but I enjoyed each and every version until the sequel came out. I loved WCW vs nWo:World Tour even if a little sore on the eyes. Revenge was golden in my views, and well WrestleMania 2000 took the best promotion in the world and combined it with the greatest wrestling engine in the world. No Mercy deserves it's own spot.
6)Sonic the HedgeHog 2- I don't know, I enjoyed this game more than any other Sonic game on the Genesis and a helluva lot more than those on the DC. The inclusion of Tails was cool even if a little dumb at times. The gameplay just seemed to be such on scale (Surprised me how they improved it for 3 but it just lacked something for me)
5)MegaMan X- i don't know what it is about this game, but I like it. I really liked it. The game was just fun on so many levels. And it added some new gameplay elements to the stagnant MegaMan formula such as the wall jump thingie. One of the best games for SNES.
4)Skies of Arcadia- The lush graphics, the tender music and the cool gameplay. Made Skies of Arcadia my favorite RPG of all time. One of the first RPGS, I stomached long enough to beat. The game was just great. Can't wait for the GCN version.
3)Super Mario World- The first game I owned for my SNES. A game with so many secrets that I didn't get all 96 exits for some time. The introduction of one of the coolest secondary players ever in Yoshi. This game was golden but scaled back on the suits which made SMB 3 the better game IME.
2)WWF No Mercy- No matter how great Fire Pro D for DC is. No Mercy is King of the World. The game just does so much right, you wonder what the hell is wrong with Yukes and Anchor. I mean granted WM x8 is fun, but it's not in No Mercy's league. After almost 2 years, this game still holds a special place in my heart.
1)Super Mario Brothers 3-By far, my favorite game ever. I owned it for NES,SNEs and will probably pick up the GBA version. The game was helluva fun for it's time and surprising enough still survives the taste of time as one of the greatest games of all time.

10. Mario Tennis (N64) ~ There's gotta be a game or four that I like better than this, but I can't think of any right now. Made for great multiplayer fun, and the first (only?) good tennis game I've ever played (well, other than that Sega one...).
9. Tetris DX (GBC) ~ This game never gets boring, ever. It's the only game I've played consistently for a handheld. Sometimes I don't play video games for a week or two, but never Tetris, I play this every day.
8. Nintendo World Cup Soccer (NES) ~ As a kid, this was unbelievable. I loved the super kicks and stuff. I still remember everything about this game, from the popped-out buggy eyes, to playing Cameroon (who wore blue) first, to the different music that played for each team, to the players for the losing team walking by on the bottom of the screen after the game with bruises and ****.
7. FirePro wrestling series ~ Not my favourite wrestling series, but easily better than 97% of all other games. A HUGE amount of characters, moves, modes, and great gameplay makes this game A-OK.
6. Rainbow Six (N64) ~ The co-op multiplayer mode in this game was too fun. I loved every level, and the way you had to save the people. Sniping- fun. I can't wait for Rogue Spear for GC... It is coming out, right?
5. The Legend of Zelda (NES) ~ The first of the Zelda games on a Nintendo system. I remember I could NEVER beat this game when I was little, and I probably couldn't beat it now. I don't like the other Zelda games too much, but I dunno because something about this game makes me love it.
4. Donkey Kong Country series (SNES) ~ DKC 3 in particular, but all three of these games ruled. When I first got DKC, I was amazed. I loved the characters, enemies, everything. Rare put together these games too good.
3. NHL series ~ NHL '94 and '02 in particular, these games just kick ass. I played NHL '94 all the time. I now play NHL '02 all the time. These games will never go bad.
2. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 (NES) ~ This whole series ruled, but the first game was too hard and the third game was like the second, only worse and came out later. I loved fighting Krang for some reason, and the snow level where the boss was that white rat thing...
1. AKI wrestling (N64) ~ Easily my favourite games EVER. No Mercy is the best game I've ever played in my life, closely followed by the other games in this series. One of the only games I can say I am a MASTER of. I don't think there will ever be a better game, but FirePro comes to GC soon so I hope... I think I'm gonna go play No Mercy right no in fact, it's too good NOT to play.

10. Ice Hockey -- NES
This was one hell of a game. There were fat skaters, skinny skates and middle-weight skaters. Fighting was amazing, because it was just one big rumble. I also liked how they switched benches in between the periods.
9. Banjo Kazooie -- N64
This game lasted me a long long time. The replay value was great, IMO, even though I was just repeating the levels, for some reason it was always fun. I really liked the characters and that crazy board game at the end!
8. EA NHL Series -- SNES/N64/PS2
Wow. I own every single copy of this series. I still play NHLPA 93 today, and I still play NHL 2002. Great series. We'll just leave it at that.
7. GTA III -- PS2
This game is spectacular. I didn't even know about it until a few weeks before it was released, and then I bought it the first day it came out. Amazing. Graphics are nice, killing people is fun, and who can forget the great car chases.
6. THPS series -- PSX/PS2
This has pushed extreme sports games to the extreme. THPS3, although very unrealistic, is very fun because of its fast paced action and the different varieties of challenges. The whole series is amazing, and now with online play added to it, it is going to be even better.
5. DKC Series -- SNES
I am a huge fan of the series. The SNES put out the best platform games, hands down. This series is crazy, monkey swinging action. I really like the characters and everything that has to do with it. They better continue this on the GBA.
4. Gran Tourismo 3 -- PS2
This is the only game of the series that I played, and it is amazing. I played it non-stop for all of last summer. However, it was a bit too long, so I had to put it down. The F-1 cars rock!
3. Jak and Daxter -- PS2
What can I say? This game has amazing graphics, great control and an okay storyline. Great all-around game.
2. Super Mario 3 -- NES T
his game was too good. I mean, it has amazing game play, and to this day is hard to put down. This was sweet. That is all I can say.
1. Super Mario 64 -- N64
Killer graphics. Killer gameplay. Man this game was sweet. Nintendo pulled it off exellently. 9.9/10. It would have been a perfect 10 if you could have rode Yoshi.

1. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
A long time I thought that A Link to the Past was a better game, untill I played it again some months ago. Now I'm sure that Ocarina of Time is the best game I've ever played.
2. Half-Life
This isn't a game, it's a life. I could spend hours walking around shooting aliens, finding secrets and new passages.
3. Super Metroid
The atmosphere is perfect. The controls are perfect. The graphics are perfect. The best game on the SNES.
4. Golden Eye
I'm not sure how many hours I spend playing this game, but it has to be more than 100. Perfect dificulty levels, great multiplayer.
5. StarCraft + BroodWar
Although I enjoyed WarCraft 2 more, these games stay playable, even after years. Great story too.
more to come...

Baseball Stars - NES
Jak and Daxter - PS2
Super Mario 64 - N64
Perfect Dark - N64
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Series - NES
10. ICO - PS2
Wow...Definately one of the most interesting games I've ever played. Maybe THE MOST interesting. Amazing gameplay, stylish graphics. If this game was over 25 hours, it would be in my top 5.
9. NHL '96 - SNES
I've always been a hockey nut, and to me, this was the best hockey game ever made. I played this game early every saturday morning when I was young for at least 2-3 hours straight.
8. Super Mario World - SNES
Third best Mario game ever created. Doesn't sound like much, but oh, it is. I beat this game about 6 times. Loved every minute of it.
7. Halo - XBox
Second best FPS I've ever played. Visuals are top notch, control is tight, and the gameplay is definately legendary
6. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Only Zelda game I REALLY liked. Gameplay was so so amazing. Second best N64 game ever made IMO
5. Metal Gear Solid 2 - PS2
I love the Metal Gear Series. Especially in 3D. The story was great, although could have been better with Kojima at the throne. But the gameplay knocked my socks off. Truly a masterpiece.
4. Grand Theft Auto 3 - PS2
Guilty Pleasures. Fun Factor. In a word, unforgettable.
3. Goldeneye - N64
Best console multiplayer game ever. I played this game for over 100 hours, easily. Favourite FPS ever. Gameplay was legendary. What else can I say?
2. Donkey Kong Country 1, 2 - SNES
I love it I love it I LOVE IT! Too much fun. Best platform games ever, if it wasn't for Mario.
1. TIE - Metal Gear Solid - PSX, Super Mario Bros. 1 and 3 - NES
couldn't decide here, so I gave it to these 3 games. Metal Gear Solid is the best 3D game I've ever played. The story was legendary, the gameplay was amazing, the graphics were sweet, EVERYTHING about it was better than awesome. As for the Mario Bros. games, they were 2 of the first games I played. And they got me hooked on videogames.

7. Metal Gear Solid- PSX

10. Samba de Amigo
Drinking Mike's, shaking maracas to Ricky Martin music. It's definetly an experience. Because of it's price and how American gamer don't enjoy fun games, we will never see a sequel, but I won't stop playing it.
9. Super Monkey Ball
One of the few games this generation which is actually fun.
8. Resident Evil
The only reason I bought a PSX, and RE4 is the deciding factor in buying a PS2. Best PSX game ever.
7. Zelda: OoT
Best Zelda ever. It got really slow towards the end, but it was still the best Zelda I've ever played, and a great game. Don't know why they made MM and ruined the Zelda experience.
6. Metal Gear Solid
This game kicked ass. Great graphics for the time, and a great story, which was really unusual back then. Not to mention it was challenging, so you could keep coming back. One PSX game I would never return.
5. Mortal Kombat
I still remember the ads for this game. Mortal Kombat was the fighting game, and I'd still take a game of MK anyday over today's crap like DOA3. MK will go down in history, as it rightfully should.
4. Wolfenstein 3D
One of the first 3D FPS ever made, and one of the best. id Software defined FPS with this game, and continued doing so with Doom, Quake, and now Doom III.
3. Tetris
The best puzzle game ever made. From Russia with Fun.
2. Super Mario 64
Still one of the best 3D games I've ever played. Without a doubt, the best switch from 2D to 3D, and still the best 3D platformer on the market.
1. Pac-Man
Pac-Man is the best game ever made, and without it, we really wouldn't be here.

I like simple yet challenging games. Like pac man, or tetris, or pong at times. Simple build, yet a challenge to beat the whole game.

That's a shame. PSOne has some awesome games--FFVII-IX, Chrono Cross, Metal Gear Solid, Gran Turismo 1-2, and etc.
I love Nintendo games too, but PSOne has a lot to off too...
