Is that a good thing or a bad thing?
I never played past Die Hard games, and don't know who made them either. Still, I'm pretty sure is wasn't Bits Studios.
Bits is a very talented company though. Based on what I read about Die Hard so far, it's clear that they(as well as their publisher, Fox Interactive) have high hopes for it as well, and they're not aiming for a mere average FPS. It's also reassuring since it's GC exclusive(at least, for now). Focusing on one console show that they want to fully concentrate all their efforts on the content going into that console, and not have to worry about any other for now.
Bits Studio seem to be very much in love with GameCube's hardware, they aren't bitching about RAM like most developers who barely spent time with the console. In fact, as good as the game is looking now, they still believe they are only scratching the surface of it's potential, specifically, it's rendering abilities. That says a lot about how deep into the hardware they've ventured, as you'd have to be pretty knowledgeable(of the hardware) to make such statements about it's untapped potential.
They are aiming for a really ambitious gameplay design, so I really hope they pull it off. The team is also working very hard on the multi player side as well. They haven't mentioned it in a long time, so I hope they didn't scrap it. [edit: It's been comfirmed recently to still carey MP... great]
