The Recruit (another FPS)
Take a look at BAM's next First Person Shooter, it looks really impressive .
Quote:
June 05, 2002 - Tucked away in BAM Entertainment's booth at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo this year was an early-in-development title for the Game Boy Advance called The Recruit, a first-person shooter based on an upcoming Al Pachino flick of the same name.
Set at the "secret" CIA training facility called the Farm at Camp Peary in Virginia, a young agent trainee named James Clayton (played by Colin Farrell in the film) is failed during his training...but he is then recruited by his ex-trainer Burke (played by Al Pacino) to take part in a secret undercover operation designed to thwart the theft of a destructive program known as 'ICE NINE'.
The Recruit for the GBA is in development at Torus Games, and uses the development team's latest generation of its first-person raycasting engine for the Game Boy Advance used in Rockstar's Duke Nukem Advance and Activision's upcoming GBA port of Doom II. The game engine that Torus has created allows for advance technical trickery, including higher resolution textures for walls, floors and ceilings, as well as animated surfaces and backgrounds, destroyable objects, and the ability to look up and down within the levels. The engine also features advanced enemy AI that reacts to gunshots and changes within specific rooms. And yes, up to four players can join in on some deathmatch mayhem through the use of the link cable port.
But The Recruit offers a lot more promise than Torus Games' previous two shooters on the GBA, as the team suggests a lot more than just running and shooting in this design. Players will have to work stealthily in some levels to plant bugs in specific rooms, use night vision goggles and sniper rifles to take out enemy soldiers as quietly as possible.
Check out the first screenshots of the game in action. BAM hopes to have The Recruit out on store shelves by this fall.

Too bad you can't aim up or down in these games.
And it's not GE, but the style reminds me of it.

Wow. This game looks very very very impressive. The characters aren't blocky one bit!!! Unlike Ecks vs. Sever... Lol.
