XBOX 360 Help PLEASE!

Ok so here's the deal. I just moved into an apartment with 2 girls and they randomly have a 26 inch emerson television that is HD compatible. Great right?

So they obviously never watch it and I'm like "Sweet Xbox timez"

Well ok today I actually hooked my stuff up and so I go to hook up the xbox with the component cables and stuff and it won't display?

Just a black screen?

Anyone help.

And yes I've flipped the little switch from Tv to HDtv that's on the cables.

That didn't fix it.

Do I have to change the display settings before it will display?

It's either the wrong display settings, or probably the wrong type of cord for the type of TV.

Or something as dumb as the cords in the wrong slot.

I would assume even though its HD comp that it probably doesn't display past 480p or so, check to see max resolution.

Does it display when the switch is set to TV?
