Default High Voltage Software at E3

They are approaching number 1 Wii 3rd party developer without actually releasing a game so.

Anyhow, they revealed a new game tonight on IGN and will reveal a new one tomorrow.

This seems to be a 300-inspired fighter called Gladitor A.D

This is not something I had expected, at face value it seems a straight forward fighting game, looks gory, limbs come off, cool. But taking the following quotes into mind:

Quote:

Kerry: The story for each character revolves around the gladiatorial circuit culminating in the Coliseum to determine the grand champion. The characters all have unique motivations to rise to the top. The player can choose to be ruthless or forgiving, affecting the storyline of the character.

David: And the story line is different for each fighter. Some fight for honor, some for revenge, and still others fight for the pleasure of ending an opponent's life. We have a very deep story mode which includes many elements of traditional RPG games, but we are being careful not to bog the player down with endless menus.

Eric: Each of the selectable gladiators has his/her unique story, rival, and plot twists. These stories are earned by unlocking events based on player decision. Choosing to allow your rival to live, rather than putting him to the sword will cause later repercussions. These events are different between the gladiators.
The game may have more depth than you would have thought. Needless to say this game has got my interest. I will be keeping my eye on it.

Now this looks a lot more promising.
A Left 4 Dead inspired 4 player online co-op game for the Wii.

The Grinder

Quote:
Tell us about the storyline. Is it intentionally over-the-top?

Eric: I don't want to give too much away right now, but the game takes place in a world we've imagined where monsters are real. Vampires, werewolves, and undead are all a part of everyday life and this world has adapted to their presence. Our group of heroes is a sort of the cryptobiological A-Team of going into areas with infestations and killing everything that moves. We've definitely been influenced by lots of great horror movies and the grindhouse style is something we've tried to incorporate into our characters and storyline.

That does look much much more promising. Forget The Conduit, wait for The Grinder!

This game looks rough around the edges.

It looks to me like it is still early dev. The character animation is constipated now but I am sure they will make it more fluid with time. Graphically is a bit untidy. Stepped edges ect, nintendo have the power to glaze this with curves and smoothe surfaces just to tidy it up. And I hope they do.

I dont think we will see the game on shelves till mabey 4th quater of the year at least as to me it looks like it still needs work. We shall see.

I think the character models are sub-par because it's for the Wii, and they're trying to make a really realistic/awesome looking game for a system that can't handle the graphics, so they're cutting back.

New Conduit trailer.
I expect more from The Grinder, but this is cool.

Think this is their best looking game, not just graphically, but based on premise.

All three games have a lot of promise and are exciting, the Conduit the least of which for me. They will have to prove themselves amongst the masses who aren't websites licking their feet for exclusive content, though. And I guess that's coming up pretty soon at the end of June, with the Conduit release.

I predict it will get average/slightly-above-average reviews.

I thought I saw a 7.5 somewhere, but I might have been mistaken. Maybe I confused it with the lowish grade that Grand Slam Tennis got.
