Drinks Inspired by Media

I came across a posting for a drink based on Zelda, but figured this could be a thread about any drink that was in some ways inspired by media such as the Scooby Snack had for my b-day or the Lethal Weapon.


The Triforce

I chose a dark Rum for Link, since he represents courage, and the nick-name for rum is “liquid courage.” Then there is 99 Bananas for Zelda. It’s smooth and refreshing (and since she is a girl, she gets the fruity part - duh!). And lastly there is Goldschlager for Gannon, representing strength, because it is the part of this shot that really kicks your ass. And Goldschlager has actual gold flakes in it! How cool is that?!?

Now one for our dear friend, TheSlyMoogle, which ironically enough is a chick drink.


Frozen Moogle

The Moogle Straight

For this recipe, you’ll need a blender. This makes enough for 2 people. Fill the blender with ice, then add 1/4 cup vodka, 1/4 cup triple sec, 1/4 cup vanilla liqueur, and about 1 cup of grapefruit juice. Blend the crap out of it, add a cherry and viola! The Frozen Moogle! The wing is of course optional, but if you’re interested, it is just white chocolate that I colored purple and piped out in that shape. It’s a little too fragile to be practical (I originally planned on TWO wings, but one exploded) and the taste doesn’t really add anything to the drink. It just looks cool.

This recipe is basically just a smaller, simpler version of the Frozen Moogle. Fill a glass with ice, then one shot each of vodka, triple sec, and vanilla liqueur, and then fill the glass with grapefruit juice. Adorn with a cherry and enjoy! Easier than leveling on Mus!

Hehe, this is an interesting thread. I don't have a lot of the ingredients needed though...have whiskey and vodka, and light rum, no dark rum or triple sec.
