Nintendo to Remake OoT?
This is only a rumour at the moment, and hopefully one that doesn't come true. I don't mind the NPC line, but I think its a better way to get gamers into games they missed on the Cube (Pikmin 1 and 2, Jungle Beat) or offers some improvement to the controls (Prime 1 and 2).

Apparently Nintendo is not done with the cool announcements. After announcing The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks last Wednesday at GDC, it seems like the Japanese firm has another huge announcement to make this week.
Late last night, our Japanese contact over at Nintendo sent us word about something really exciting: a Wii remake of the one of the greatest N64 games ever produced: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. We were also told that an official announcement would be made around April 5, which is the North American launch of the Nintendo DSi.
While the whole announcement made us really excited, announcing the game alongside the launch of the DSi made us ask ourselves one question that went unanswered: Is it going to have some kind of DSi inter-connectivity?
Mark your calendars people and get ready for probably one of the most cool announcements of the year.

Also to be noted, this is March 30th so take anything you hear over the course of the week with a grain of salt.

And this is why I try to keep good friends away from this place.

Re: Nintendo to Remake OoT?
I'm honestly not sure what to expect of this. On one had, of course im extremely interested, OOT is in my opinion the greatest videogame ever made. On the other hand, it was so perfect, is there really any need to mess with it?
I mean, I assume this would mean the same basic storyline, but with updated graphics and re-designed dungeons, side quests, ect....

At best, i would expect improved graphics and wii controls like TP.
At worst, another Master Quest's.
At best worst, its an April Fools.

I'd rather have a new Zelda. OoT is fine the way it is.

Re: Nintendo to Remake OoT?
This had better be a poor man's April Fool. I'd hate a remake. It would mean we wouldn't get a new Zelda game any time soon.
Oh and I'm playing through Ocarina of Time: Master Quest at the moment. It's good, but I don't want to play the same game (story) again.
Oh by the way, people complained that TP looked too much like OoT. Now they're going to give us OoT again to please the fans?

Re: Nintendo to Remake OoT?
Announcing along the same time frame leads me to beleive it may be for the DSi, kind of like Mario 64 was remade for the DS.

That would make sense but Nintendo JUST announced a new Zelda for the DS, and Nintendo is a lot of things, but stupid isn't one.

So has this been claimed as an April's Fool yet?
