Video games of today
Ok so the other day my friends asked me what the last video game was I really enjoyed. Like was crazy in love with.
I got to thinking, and really, I couldn't come up with anything from the next gen era at all. I've played all the hot titles, I've played all the hidden gems.
Really nothing has impressed me for a long time. Everything I wanted to play has disappointed me somehow.
It's... Well it's sad actually.
Anyone else feel this way?
Also I think the Wii as a system is a big flaming pile of dog s***
They sold out the gamers who supported them long enough to make the Wii while we were playing their gamecube goodness no one else wanted. I hate nintendo so much right now, and I'm glad I didn't actually spend my hard earned 250 on the system and someone gifted it to me.
So my answer to the last game I truly enjoyed?
I'm actually still thinking, but I might honestly have to say Okami for the PS2, which I don't consider that new considering that it took it almost 3 years to come over here from Japan. But that probably isn't the answer.

This gen..
Mario Galaxy is one of my favorite games of all time.
I have sadly put in more hours of Burnout Paradise than I would like to admit.
And the Valve duo of TF2/L4D with GTers is always a welcomed treat.

Re: Video games of today
I thought SSBB and Zelda:TP were pretty epic. Oh and World of Goo.

Re: Video games of today
Half-Life 2.
TF2.
L4D.
Fallout 3.
And Halo Wars is surprisingly more fun than I thought it would be. It has potential to last for a while.
Id have to say that most of the games I have bought did not disappoint me. Theres a few I regret buying but I can always use those as frisbees.

I still maintain that Mass Effect might be the best all around game ever made.

Re: Video games of today
Super Mario Galaxy
Half Life 2 and it episodes, Portal and TF2, so Orange Box
Uncharted (though not as much as the other ones, but it was a great game)
The Banjo Kazooie demo (yes, the demo, I didn't buy the full game yet, but I'm sure it would've been on the list)
Edit: Whoops, I forgot about BioShock. Whoa, a game I call best game ever, and I forget it..
And I'm currently playing Psychonauts, and loving every minute of it. But it's last gen, so I guess it doesn't count
But nothing - nothing - will ever give me the same feelings I had when I first played Super Mario World, Donkey Kong Country, Super Mario 64, Banjo Kazooie, Banjo Tooie and Perfect Dark. Those are my ultimate games ever. Oh, and BioShock..

Re: Video games of today
Portal and TF2 had me pretty pumped. Is it love though? I don't know...
The last game I really fell in love with was on the N64...I believe it was called Ocarina of Time. Wind Waker came close. Twilight Princess just did not captivate me, although I will play through it again one day.
Wasn't HL2 last gen?
