Terminator: Salvation

Apparently, Batman goes into the future to fight robots.
Something like that.

Re: Terminator: Salvation
Looks like it could be good. I'm glad they dropped the very dark future world of the other movies. Those were good for a few minutes, but not for an entire movie.
Of course this will be a totally different movie than the first 3 and the series. We'll see.

Re: Terminator: Salvation
I wonder, how do you think the Batmobile would do against Terminators?

Depends on which Batmobile in my opinion.
The Tumbler from the new movies looks like it will do well.
The older ones, I'm not so certain about. Only so much climbing up walls and breaking off pieces to fit through narrow spaces is gonna get you.

Compared to the laughable older ones, I think the Tumbler could do reasonably well, but I think even it would be destroyed almost instantly. Which makes me wonder how Salvation will work. I mean, every Terminator in the three movies was bordering on indestructible, to an extent that is pretty much physically impossible. Given that, how does even the strongest nation in the world fight them, let alone a band of the ragtag remaining humans on Earth?

Re: Terminator: Salvation
Remember that Salvation probably takes place shortly after Judgement Day. Maybe the Terminators aren't that strong yet.
Hm... considering the trailer, that's probably nonsense.
In the movies and series, it's always implied that the future resistance works because they operate in the dark and live underground. Skynet is like a bully trying to kill every living ant. Impossible.
Salvation shows a lot more open area action, which isn't really in the advantage of men...
Hm, now I can't wait to see the movie. June 2009 is far away.

I read through most of the Wiki on the new movie, and it does indeed take place before the T-800 (Arnold) model is fully functional. Apparently, a prototype version of the T-800 will be played by an Arnold-lookalike actor. And I guess it could be early enough that they don't yet live and operate in the dark and underground.
