Rock Band Question
So I've decided to get Rock Band/Rock Band 2. So I'm in a tough position. Just so you know, I own a PS3 and Wii. These answer may very well be on the internet somewhere, but i'd rather not track down the answers.
Question 1) Are Rock Band 1 guitars compatible with Rock Band 2
Question 2) I heard that you can get the entire Rock Band 1 set list on Rock Band 2 for free. Is this true? I assume I would need to own Rock Band 1?

Re: Rock Band Question
1.) Yes, the instruments are fully cross-compatible.
2.) Yes, on 360 and PS3, apparently we're given the option of paying some fee, like $5, and downloading most (if not all) of the Rock Band 1 songs straight off the disc onto your hard drive. Nothing's fully confirmed at the moment though.
3.) Don't get the Wii version. Please.

Re: Rock Band Question
The Rock Band 2 guitars look pretty awesome, you might want to wait for them (The Rock Band 2 drum set looks amazing, totally wish I had that instead of my old RB1 one.)

Re: Rock Band Question
yes, they say they took care of the 'mushy' feel of the rock band 1 strum bar with the new guitar. which that was really my only complaint, i couldnt play with that mushy thing. and it now calibrates itself.
so the RB2 guitar should be pretty sweet.. i'll be buying the whole package on 360 when its out

It's true, the details just aren't ironed out. It was announced on the official forums by one of the devs.
I personally think the bundle is worth a buy even if you got the bundle the first time around; the standard instruments are much improved.

Re: Rock Band Question
I literally bought it about 10 minutes after I read Dyne's post, lol. Didn't take too much convincing. I really like it so far. I have to say that like GH's guitar better because of the buttons. I don't like how Rock Band's guitar buttons hang off the edges so that you can 'press them down' even though your fingers aren't actually pressing them down. Kind of frustrating sometimes.

Re: Rock Band Question
Then you're holding the guitar wrong, it's called a bottleneck grip, and could can hurt your hand eventually.

Re: Rock Band Question
Can you really judge quiet in a place with 50,000 people?

Re: Rock Band Question
Thankfully the GH2 X-Plorer will still work with RB2. It's the first plastic guitar I got and the only one I need!

Re: Rock Band Question
i have to play the xplorer sitting, if i stand up, that stupid spike part at the bottom wants to lean forward and bothers my arm when i play.
the guitar hero 3 controllers IMO are the best currently. im really hopping that changes with RB2. the RB2 one looks by far the best, only question is if they got that strumbar right this time. which it sounds like they did.
