Default DS question

I thought I read somewhere (a few years ago) that the DS could only display 3D graphics on 1 of the 2 screens. True?

Now I see a lot of games who have 3D graphics on both screens at once... so what's the deal with that, did they improve programming or something?

By the way, Zelda: Phantom Hourglass looks great.

It is specifically designed to render 3D on one screen at a time. Rendering 3D on more than one screen causes a fair sized performance hit, but it can still be done.

Ah ok, I was thinking about 2 processors, 1 2D and 1 3D, where each had to do 1 screen...

I still don't have one though. Maybe when I'm doing internship I'll get one, because I have to travel 3 hours each day.
