Default WoW: Wrath of the Lich King

Gamespot reports the new expansion pack for WoW will be called "Wrath of the Lich King."

Quote:
Earlier this week, a product listing appeared in the online database of German software ratings board Unterhaltungssoftware Selbstkontrolle (USK) for a World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King "GC-demo." The listing led many to speculate that Blizzard would be showing off the next expansion in its popular massively multiplayer online role-playing game at this year's Games Convention in Leipzig, which runs August 23-26, if not sooner at BlizzCon later this week. Not long after the news broke, the Wrath of the Lich King listing mysteriously disappeared from USK's database.

However, as the saying goes, the tighter a secret is squeezed, the easier it slips through the cracks. The latest evidence signaling that Blizzard's next expansion is nigh comes by way of the online database of the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Filed under the word mark "Wrath of the Lich King," a trademark for the name was issued to Blizzard on July 28. Wrath of the Lich King was submitted with a filing basis of 1B, which, according to US Trademark Law, signifies "intent-to-use." According to the USPTO, "An 'intent to use' application must include a sworn statement (usually in the form of a declaration) that applicants have a bona fide intention to use the mark in commerce." [emphasis in original]

If Blizzard uses BlizzCon to unveil a new WOW expansion, the move won't be unprecedented. At BlizzCon 2005, The Burning Crusade made its official debut, though its presence had been made well known several months prior through job listings on the developer's Web site, and by a missive from lead producer Shane Dabiri on WOW's official forums. BlizzCon 2007 kicks off tomorrow at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California. Check back with GameSpot for more from the event, and probably, the big reveal for World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King.
And here I am still w/o even having leveled a toon to 60 yet.

Theres some pictures and stuff floating around. If all they're gonna do every expansion is just raise the lvl cap and add new high lvl stuff, well then maybe I wont go back for this one.

As giddy as I want to feel, my highest level Burning Crusade character didn't make it past lvl 63...
I think WoW is officially dead to me... Finally...

I'm glad I quit. TBC didn't interest me at all and I'm happy I didn't buy it.

Does anyone else feel it's a bit soon to announce a new expansion? My brother plans to play TBC, but he won't be glad to know that his 'effort' may be 'futile' in a year again. The original WoW held for.... 2 or 3 years or something?

I saw the trailer and I must say I'm impressed. This expansion gives so much more than The Burning Crusade. It's like they weren't trying with that one.

Not that it will get me playing again...

So WotLK is like 3 weeks away. Who's getting it?

Last week I played my brother's warlock (lvl60) and I liked the new talents. I installed the game and I will play it for a little bit. Just leveling the lock and exploring Outland for a bit. And I hope he'll get WotLK, then I'll get to play that too.

I'm definitely digging the new talents I've tinkered with...
I have the collector's edition pre-ordered on amazon...

I have a 70 horde druid all set to go into Northrend, but I've sorta switched it up lately and am leveling an alliance hunter on a PvP server... Dunno if I'll go back to the druid, or if I'll see the hunter to 80...
