stuipid clam shell designs!!! (broken DS)

my poor poor DS has its right side hinge snapped off... its had a faint little crack line on the back for a while now. and the other night when i opened it i heard a snap and the top half became very lose... the whole right side hinge above the led lights has come right off... still works just the top part wont stay anywhere to play it..

That sucks, just out of curiosity, is it the original Ds or the DS lite?

Ive never had a problem with mine, which is the original.

and i looked on ebay for a broken DS maybe one that doesnt work or has the screen smashed i could look for parts.

picture after picture shows the EXACT same thing. the right hinge above the led lights snaped off each one.

so i ordered up one of thoes, just open my ds, take the guts out, put it in the new shell and i should be good to go again.

i got the white because it matches what i have, and i could use only the part thats broke.. but that chrome one was kinda tempting...

Did you try calling Nintendo? Their customer support is top notch.

the warranty on it is for 1 year....i've had it a little over a year. they'd fix it, but it would cost more then just ordering the thing from that website.



im fine with that. i wont have to take the ds completely apart. just open up the back, slide off the top face (where the buttons are) and slide on the new white one. keep the rest of it as is.
