Ok 24 is pretty awesome. [UMS]
I learned a few days ago that my library has TV seasons on DVD. I originally borrowed CSI: Miami with my friend Holly so we could watch Horatio's crazy Miami antics, but I learned they had others. I kept renting CSI:M until 24 came in, and now the first season is. I rented disc one yesterday and watched all of it, and today I watched all of disc 2. Disc 3 is up for tonight.
They have up to season 4. Is that all that's out?
Why is this series so good?*
*Disclaimer: I totally saw the cameraman in the scene after Nina got "shot" by Jack where she's in an abandoned barn trying to phone CTU, though. That was kind of lame.

Maybe someone has season 5 out right now. Wouldn't be surprised.

Re: Ok 24 is pretty awesome. [UMS]
That other thread we have regarding season six in addition to Neo's testimony prompted me to buy all five seasons that are currently on DVD. I too, had never watched the show but I'm hooked now. Just started season three. I've been going through 3-5 episodes a night.
Jack Bauer is one BAMF (bad ass mutha fuc.ka).
And since you have a Mac, you should download MacTheRipper so you can make 'backup' copies of the DVDs to cherish for years to come.
I'm glad I've watched the show on DVD. The quality is better (unless you have HDTV) but that doesn't stop the annoying commercials from breaking up each engaging episode. Even with DVR, you still have to fast forward through the junky commercials.
Anyway, this show gets my seal of approval.

i think think he meant commercials with HDTV.
HDTV is better quality then DVD, but you have to deal with the commercials.

is there a difference between HDTV cable and a DVD playing on a progressive scan DVD player with an HDMI cable running at 1080i?
I ask because DVDs look darn crisp on my father's new Sharp Aquos, couldn't tell much of a difference between HDTV and DVDs (the newer DVDs anyway).

HDTV signal is better quality then a DVD running on a hdtv.
but theres also upconvert dvd players that will upgrade the quality, im not sure about how those work and what its really doing to a standard dvd tho.

Re: Ok 24 is pretty awesome. [UMS]
Up-converting DVDs are making pixels where none exist. While it looks a little better, it's not nearly as good as watching a picture that's in native 1920x1080. My experiences with HDTV cable are amazing, but I only pick up the HD-exclusive channels out here (700s), and picture is always better on higher numbered stations.
Regardless, if the show is filmed and broadcasted in 1080i, it will look better than a DVD up-converted to 1080i. It would be worse than a HD-DVD though.

Is '24' like a TV show or something?

Re: Ok 24 is pretty awesome. [UMS]
I've only just begun my journey into Day 3 but so far, I think Chase is an arrogant, douche-bag.
How dare he challenge and question the decisions of his higher ranking partner, Jack Bauer. If he was partnered with anyone else, sure, go for it, but Jack Bauer is CTU's and pretty much the President's greatest asset. And has already proven himself to be the greatest through day one and day two.
Chase is just a stupid, disrespectful youth. I hope a bad guy takes him out with a silencer.

If you want to know the backstory of Chase and other exciting CTU regulars such as Chloe, play '24' the game, available wherever videogames are sold!

Ok, I took out the last three discs. Is there only six discs for the first season?

Yeah each season is only 6 discs.
Should be 4 episodes a disc.

Re: Ok 24 is pretty awesome. [UMS]
I just finished watching season 4 fifteen minutes ago. I'm tempted to say it was the best one yet.
I would rank them: 4-2-3-1
Too bad I only have two more seasons left to watch for now.
