weird conversations
I went on a German Club field trip yesterday and the highlight of the evening was dinner at a German restaurant (which didn't speak a word of German). Anyway, since we were so bored we decided to ask each other really weird questions... One that we were going back and forth on for the longest time was,
"Which would you rather... die by drowning or burning to death?"
I was just wondering what you guys(or girls) would answer to this question.

I would rather die buy drowning. I don't know but it seems a whole lot less painful and peaceful than burning to death.

Drowning has pain just like being burnt to a crisp. Drowning is a horrible death. I guess I would choose drowning...

I know it has pain, it just seems it would be less painful. And you'd at least be identifiable by your face as opposed to if you're face gets burned...

Drowning would be a horrible death, but burning to death would be even worse. I'd rather fall out of a plane to my death, because you pass out before you hit the ground.

drowning.
speaking of falling out of planes and such, there was a guy who jumped off the top of the Eiffel Tower(this was a while ago) and they thought he died on impact but it turned out he tied of a heart attack while he was in air, so he was already dead before he hit the ground.

I can't answer. Both are terribly yet equally horrible. Is freezing to death an option?

I would rather drown
You pass out when you run out of oxygen...that's before your lungs explode...
While burning, you would feel a tremendous amount of pain before you die...

I put it like this... Did anyone see the Survivor episode when Mike fell into the fire because he inhaled the smoke and passed out(ouch)?
I don't know why but I chose burning to death... I guess which ever one you choose your body would go into shock and you basically wouldn't feel a thing... (that's one thing that came to mind when we brought up the conversation in class) but with drowning to death, I don't know it just seems too painful

Well, if you pass out from inhaling the fumes.. then you would have gotten "lucky" so to speak.
With drowning.. you stop breating, which in turn knocks you out, then your lungs explode.

Drowning.
Why, well think about it. When you drown in cold water your body goes numb, your body shuts down and you just slip away relatively peacefully, that doesnt mean it wouldnt be a horrible ordeal. Drowning in just any old water, (ie. not cold) would be very scary I think.
Drowning, along with being buried alive... trapped... has always been one of my worst fears, it doesn't affect me in that I wont go in the water, but its something that the thought of it has always scared me.
Being burned alive... seriously that would be a horrifying and excrutiatingly painful ordeal... ugh... not for me.
I know, how about, neither, I die an old man... peacefully... in my sleep.
