Default History of Console Prices

*Bottom chart is adjusted for inflation.

So really $600 isn't horrible but the highest priced consoles weren't successful either in the past. And Nintendo staying at $200 opening are really getting cheaper and cheaper. Damn my cousin paid a lot for his Atari 2600 which I now own...but still works so worth it I guess.

Interesting.

I only personally know one person who owns a Neo Geo. Man that thing was expensive.

i hate seeing comments on how all the high priced consoles failed so it will follow with Sony.

However the other consoles didn't have successful generations before hand. Sony has 2 generations of over-successful consoles and the fanbase has ever so grown. I don't think being a bit overpriced will create such a line that sony cannot overcome with a price drop in like 6 months because of manufacturing costs going down and sales from software.

I never knew Neo Geo was a console. I always thought it was just the handheld? Where's my head at?

Well first it was the arcade platform. But in actuality there has been a Neo Geo, a Neo Geo CD, a Neo Geo Pocket, and a Neo Geo Pocket Colour.
